Seeing CP on a red hockey jersey immediately puts me to mind the old USSR uniforms.

Ok. Get the Eiffel Tower. leaning tower of Pisa, and the Colosseum in there. Sorry, even if the Calgary silhouette is not perfect, it is still the Calgary Flames. People from other places can appreciate the local flavor I am sure
I like a lot of the submissions including very much the Monahan silhouettes and at the same time recognize that including our last year's rookie savior is a risky investment.
The CP puck speech bubble is simple and effective and at the same time lacks the personalized punch that I hope CP can fin
Lots of great ideas and while I try to invent one myself that is worthy, keep the good ideas and positive discourse coming

A big thank you to everyone who has contributed from a fellow with zero artistic ability.

I like the bottom one as well, with the simple CP in the middle.
I have never associated the Calgary Tower with the Calgary Flames.

I'd love something with less black in it. It's the same issue I have with a black Flames logo. Too much black turns it into a Team Canada or a Florida look instead of the Flames. More colours from the retro uniforms in my opinion.

This is still the best, IMO. Though I wouldn't mind seeing the Saddledome silhouette worked in there.
If this is about building a brand, this one fits best.
The whole CalgaryPuck.com thing that the recent designs are aiming at is irrelevant, you're already here, no need to promote it. Too Vancouver Canucks jersey-ish.

It kind of feels a bit too cluttered now. I like the first one the best still and would agree with steve that the .com could go.

Well, you can't please them all. I guess I have a different viewpoint on the direction the site should go, and that's completely okay! All ideas are welcomed and encouraged.

I think the silhouette of the Calgary skyline in a logo is very 2005. But that's just my opinion.

This logo needs more. More everything! More hockey players! Might I suggest a chorus line of 24 Sean Monahans, animated so they are doing the can-can. More stuff that makes it intimidating! Add in a bunch of tarantulas, the hairier the better! More stuff representing the off topic forum! More hot chicks and images that should accompany forum.drunkpuck.com. Finally, more cowbell!!!
Seriously, I liked the first iteration of this logo. I thought the simplicity of it was beautiful. Now it's just way too busy and would not look good scaled down. Simplicity is your friend. Embrace your friend!
One thing I would like to see killed is the Sean Monahan silhouette. That's just an awkward image. I could see someone taking that logo and #######izing it into that row of Calgary Rockettes I jokingly suggested. The position Monahan is in is perfect for a photoshop pro to got to town on. I'd stay as far away from that image, or images of other players, as you can. Nothing will date the site quicker than focusing on a player.
All that said, I really like all the ones that use the speech bubble concept. Very smart, very reflective of what the site is about, and very simple. Great stuff ladies and gentlemen of CP.

We should change the name of the board to: Conversation Communities of Calgary Puck
However we would have to change the name of all the forums to:
Off-Topicstan
Other Sportstan
Back Burnerstan
Buy and Sell-istan

I'm curious as to how that skyline came about... as far as I know there's no angle with that much space between the Bow and Suncor, nor anything that tall between them. Also the Bow seems to have lost some girth, and the Calgary tower has gained some height). I wish that was our skyline!

hey cp
i just stumbled across a font webpage and it has a TON of sports fonts.... including the new flames 3rd jersey font
i figured it might be a helpful resource for anyone coming up with a new cp logo....
http://fontsbyconrad.wordpress.com/
the nhl fonts are on the right side, third row of fonts (assuming it displays the same as what i see on my monitor)

While you're at it, could you add coloured silhouettes of every player that may play a game for the Flames next season?
