It wasn't exactly pretty, but you have to be happy that we found a way to win a game that we were losing 5-0 at one point.

When people complain that baseball is boring, they should be referred to this series. Holy cow. Such a great series.

I don't care that he won the game with the hit at the end. Broken clock is right twice a day. Guy has a lot of skill but the baseball IQ of a gnat.
Broken clock.. what are you talking about?
Ya he could have taken one for the team.. and what possibly break an arm? Great game. Glad they got it done, Bautista is a great leader. Nobody hates losing as much as he does.

The Jays need to go on a tear soon. Hopefully EE and Lind show up sometime soon. They can't keep running out the mediocre lineups they have been and expect to win consistently.

Lind is back tomorrow. Encarnacion is expected by the end of the week. Lawrie in September.

When you're 0 for 7 and have a chance to take one off the terminator arm protector for the win, you take it. Gutless play by him.

I know guys like him. "Hate losing". Get really angry when things don't go their way. But then a chance to win the game actually comes around, and he wusses out. Don't be fooled by all the bluster. The guy leads the league in "me at-bats". That at-bat with the bases loaded in the 13th (?) was the very definition of a me at-bat. Followed by a very obvious me at-bat once again in the 19th.

Hating losing does not make you a leader. Some of the biggest cancer dbags I have ever played with also "hated losing with a passion". Funny - they were also the ones diving out of the way of bean balls with the game on the line.

Wish I was going to Seattle. Can't make it this year. If anybody from CP is there be extra loud for us all! Outside of the Sounders Seattle has got the bandwagon fans down to an art, hopefully they stay away and these are like 3 home games again.

Was he supposed to swing at the two intentional walks?

Interesting stat - Melky reached base 8 times in the game (3 hits, 5 BOB) first time since early 70s (Rod Carew) this has happened - all courtesy of Sunday Night Baseball.

not sure many non baseball fans would enjoy a six hour game where no runs are scored for hours...just saying

hopefully this is a big win, it only is if the Jays can keep rolling

It's a reflex when you see a 90mph ball coming straight at you to get out of the way. I'm sure if he had more than a second to think about it he would have leaned into it.

Actually, the reflex should be to turn your shoulder so it hits you in the back.

Sort of off-topic but what is with that?

Why does it honestly seem that a lot of people who live on the west coast area are bandwagon sports fans? It's fascinating how there seems to be a prevailing mindset among people who live in a certain geographical area.

Can't understand it. What makes people so insecure in that area that they only support teams when it's the "in" thing to do?

I am heading down for the game tomorrow night. It will be a great crowd. Hernandez is pitching for the M's, which always draws a big crowd, and the Jays are in town which honestly draws an even bigger crowd. It will be a lot of fun!

Believe it or not, that is an instinct that can be overcome, and likely has been overcome by the majority of major league hitters.

Also, there was no leaning required. All he had to do was keep his terminator pad in the same place.

It seems to me you just hate Bautista and are looking for reasons to hate him more.

Ya good question and I don't know, maybe it isn't fair but especially the Seahawks when they got ripped as being one of the most bandwagon franchises in the NFL even within Seattle. Then again, Portland and Seattle have had a reputation for being pretty die hard about soccer for a long time, even before the MLS, which seems quite unusual in the States.

Maybe reaching but it could be because Seattle is a really nice place to live with a lot of entertainment/recreation options and as soon as the teams get bad people just tune out or switch to another team or activity because they have many options?

I've heard the theory numerous times from Edmonton friends that the Oilers are so popular despite being a joke franchise because in the winter there are very few alternative options for entertainment and the weather is absolutely miserable.

Either way, hope the Jays can keep the momentum going from the last couple games.

Anytime someone takes a few seconds out of their day to take a shot at Edmonton in a some what unrelated manner deserves a thanks.
