This is an unbelievable back nine.

Rory, Chesty, Fowler...going to be an amazing finish.

Playing a 4some on the 18th to get it in.

Then they don't even show Rory's partner's shot, instead showing his face.

Rory just stays out of the hazard and that should be it. Phil or Fowler have to eagle now.

This is pretty fun but could have been a much better finish with better light. Rory might lose the tournament right now because of dark.

Tepid reaction and smattering of boos for Rory. Dumb.

Everyone else came out firing on the front and did nothing on the back. Rory went -4 on the back today. It's gonna be fun watching where he can go because he's not even at his full potential yet.

I'm better at putting when I can't see.

Congrats to Rory! I wonder if Phil will complain about being forced to let Rory and Weisberger play up. Personally I don't think it made much of a difference and may have been a disadvantage for Rory, but Phil seemed pretty rattled about it.

Agreed. Usually I love watching the pros scramble in the tough conditions that the USGA subjects them to, but Pinehurst No. 2 didn't do it for me this year. This is the first time I can remember that the PGA was the most compelling major.

I think the other Majors weren't compelling this year because there was little doubt as to who was going to win by the back nine. The Masters was shaping up to be a great dual until Spieth started to choke and Bubba cruised to victory. At the US Open, Kaymer just destroyed the field over the first two rounds there wasn't much left to be determined over the weekend. Rory had a big lead heading into Sunday at the Open, and is such a great closer, there wasn't much doubt either.

In my mind, the course setup was too easy this week (the wet weather didn't help much), the best example of which was the setup at #4 on Saturday. Don't get me wrong, I love a driveable par four, but there has to be some risk/reward element that was lacking. It was practically a guaranteed birdie.

What was his problem about it considering he was ok with them playing up to the fairway?

Three wood on ten was a complete fluke.

He was under the belief they were only going to play ahead on the tee shot, not the second shot. Apparently it's usually at the discretion of the players but the rules officials forced them to allow the McIlroy group play into the green.

So they are ok with them teeing off and therefore giving the players the right to decide to finish the hole if the horn is blown (as Fowler said).

But ... when they have teed off they want them to wait until it gets darker?

One could speculate that there was a touch of gamesmanship involved. That they wanted to put the final group in the awkward position of (a) playing in pretty much darkness or (b) taking the unpopular decision to finish out the next day.

Just doesn't make sense to me to make a half gesture, either none or both.

That shot did look like it was going funny from the vantage point right behind Rory, almost looked like he pulled it on the swing, and then you see that overhead shot of the ball just rolling up to the pin beautifully.

What a finish, I was glued to the TV for the better part of 2 hours.

Really hoping Fowler can bag a major next season.

Was driving back from Kelowna yesterday and missed the entire round- sounds like I missed one of the better Sundays at a major in a while.
