Default Filmmaker challenges critics to an all out brawl.

Uwe Boll, this generation's Ed Wood (voted as the worst filmmaker of all time) has finally cracked. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Uwe Boll, and Ed Wood for that matter, good for you because you're not missing out on anything. The best thing with Ed Wood was the biopic starring Johnny Depp and Directed by Tim Burton.

From www.imdb.com
German horror director Uwe Boll is so fed up with receiving bad reviews from movie critics he is challenging his detractors to a filmed fight. Boll, whose movies Alone In The Dark and House Of The Dead are based on video games, says he will fly his critics to meet him and will then fight them in a boxing ring. The filmmaker is incensed by an online petition which has 13,327 signatures of people asking him to stop making movies. Boll, who has also invited Roger Avary and Quentin Tarantino to join his fight, plans to air the fights on the internet. He the plans to edit clips into his latest film Postal. Boll says, "I'm fed up with people slamming my films without seeing them. Many journalists make value judgments on my films based on the opinions of one or two thousand internet voices. Half of those opinions come from people who've never watched my films. If critics want to bring Uwe Boll down, here is their chance to physically bring him down and have the entire world watch them do it."

----

For those of you who have suffered through any of Uwe Boll's horrific attemts at filmmaking, here is the link to the online petition to stop this man from making another movie. I know that this call to fight his critics is childish and pathetic, but I'd still like to see that. I wonder if anyone will actually step up to kick his a$$.

What a clown. How come none of those petition links ever work from my computer at work? I wanted to sign the "Cabbage for Kypreos" one too.

That's pretty much my opinion of Uwe Boll's movies, and I have seen all of them. The experience of watching each of his movies has been a form self torture and the only reason I keep doing it is because I keep thinking, the next one can't possibly be worse or as bad as the last, but they always are.

If you would like to torture anyone I suggest that you tie them up to the most uncomfortable chair you can fine, possibly one with a couple of nails sticking out of the seat and the back rest. Prop open their eyes with needles and make them watch all of Uwe Boll's movies simultaneously while droplets of water fall on their head gently.

Just because you and me don't like them, doesn't mean anybody else doesn't. I agree with him on the critics part; IMO too many people base their opinion of a movie on what people around them say. Take the Davinci Code for example, how many critics said it was going to be a bust? And look how well it did.

I completely understand what you are trying to say and I agree to some degree. Movies, like food are a matter of tastes, but how many people that you know actually like burned food? Uwe Boll's movies are like a good dish served to you burned. The concept for the stories could be alright if handled by a better filmmaker.

I despire his movies too. But he has a very good point.

I don't even listen to the critics anymore. Their viewpoint is ridiculous.
