Holy crap! Some of the goals in that highlight package made my jaw drop. I didn't know he had those kinds of moves.

One knock I see though is he looks like a lanky fawn out there. He really needs to concentrate on building some muscle to fill in.

He posted a pic on twitter showing he was up to 201 lbs, about a week ago.

After 2 more years of college, I'd expect he'll be around 215 - 220 lbs.

If he's legitimately over 200 lbs with two months to go before they play their first game, he could be a completely different player next season.

At 200lbs and growing he just may be ready to turn pro and develop in the AHL after this college season if things blow up for him.

As many have said, he is now over 200 lbs.

By comparison, it was generally believed that he started last season at about 185 lbs and it is usually pretty difficult to gain much/any weight during the season.

Much of the Jankowski debate hinges around how his game will evolve along with his size. I want to see not only a bigger, stronger player this year, but also a willingness to utilize that size and play a more 'involved' game.

I agree with Robbob that if he can utilize his size, and take his offense to the next level (say 1 PPG), that he could well be ready to forego his 4th year and turn pro.

Next summer we could be talking about a 6'4" 215 lb, 20 year old C that led his team as a junior.

Agree, getting involved is my main criticism with when I've watched him play. More size and strength may give him more confidence to make that check and go after the puck. It's the step I'm hoping to see from him otherwise you can have all the skill in the world but if you can't get the puck, it's not much use.

That's what I'm hoping as well. The quicker he's ready for the AHL the better. Hoping Gillies does the same after this season.

Impressive, I'd love to see his meal plan. But was he just trolling us? Wasn't he 170 pounds last spring? 30 lbs in one summer is a pretty large jump..

Don't know about last Spring but he weighed in at 186 last Fall at the start of last season.

That matches him telling reporters at development camp a few weeks ago that he gained 15 pounds, therefore putting him at 201 now.

Perfect thanks, for some reason I had that 170 number stuck in my head. 15 pounds is much more believeable, especially at his age.

Can't wait to see the beast on skates this winter.

Congrats to @Janko61 for making the 200 club! I'm sure there was little to no tampering with the scale either #gaaaaains

It seems to be his little brother teasing him a bit. I wouldn't put too much thought about it beyond that.

How does the compensation for college 1st Rd pick work I wonder? Do we have to actually offer him a contract to trigger the compensation or do we automatically get it if he remains unsigned after Aug 15 2016?

I'm pretty sure we have to offer him a contract before we would be eligible to receive compensation.

If 24 year old Mauermann wasn't there taking up 90 seconds of PP time I would agree with you.

Jankowski's Friars start their season next weekend (Oct. 10th/11th) with games against Ohio State. In preseason polls, the Friars are picked as the #1 ranked team in Hockey East and third ranked team in the country.

Should mean more exposure for the Friars and Jankowski. I think how he fares this year will go a long ways in projecting his future as an NHLer. I know I'll be watching closely.
