In 10 years I hope Brodie can take that spot, but right now it's not even close.

No brainer for Joey Mullen, hopefully TJ can eventually approach that type of career.

Does anybody remember that "zoo shoot" ad Joey did a long time ago? For some reason that always pops in to my head when I think of him. I think it was the first time I realized how "New York" his accent really was.

Mullen...

51 goals and 110 points, lead the team in scoring (by 25 points) the year we won the Stanley Cup.... Not to mention leading the team in the playoffs with 16 goals.

But I think I will pick Brodie....

I'm still mad they traded Mullen away basically for peanuts.

Some terrible asset management going on in those years.

It was a joke, poking fun at a common refrain with polls. Green text next time?

After Risebrough determined he was too old and wanted to trade him at the draft, and Badger Bob Johnson at the Pittsburgh table reportedly stood up and started screaming "GET HIM!!!!" while pounding the table, the flames dumped the "over the hill" mullen to Pitts for some draft picks if I recall.

As for the "too old" aspect, consider Mullen's Pittsburgh stats for the first few seasons:
GP, Goals, A, Points

1990-91 Pittsburgh Penguins NHL 47 17 22 39
1991-92 Pittsburgh Penguins NHL 77 42 45 87
1992-93 Pittsburgh Penguins NHL 72 33 37 70
1993-94 Pittsburgh Penguins NHL 84 38 32 70

Bad, bad trade for the Flames.

Highly underappreciated player. Scored 51 goals as a Flame in the cup winning year and finished a +51 on the season. 24 points in 21 playoff games to win the cup. Star who never sought the attention.

One of the few Flames to ever be a First Team All Star
Won two Lady Byng Trophies as a Flame.
Highly durable player despite his size as well.

I wasn't a fan of his when he was here, but definately a player who I appreciate more now. He should be honoured with a Forever a Flame thing as well.

One is a relative of Brodie I believe, so she has a legitimate excuse. The opinion of the rest can now be safely ignored when it comes to hockey.

Chouinard broke into the league wearing #10 in Atlanta for a few games. Then he played about 250 games wearing #16 for them. In Calgary he continued to wear #16 for the first two seasons, leading the team in assists during 1981-82. Chouinard switched to #7 for the 1982-83 season (his last in Calgary), where he led the team in assists again. He wore #17 in St. Louis the following year.

One of my most favorite Flames ever, a true piece of Calgary's run to the Cup in 86 and their win in 89, gave him away for nothing and he wins a couple Cups in Pittsburgh.

Too bad he isn't talked about more by the Flames, I don't think a lot of younger fans even know who he was, which is a shame.

Hey, I am a young fan (probably one of the youngest on here), but I know Brodie isn't even close to Mullen.

Mullen >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Brodie.

Maybe it'll change in 5+ years, but this poll isn't even close.

I knew someone who stopped watching hockey when they traded Mullen. Insanely underrated, apparently by Flames mgmt as well when they traded him.

for those who never got to see Joe play....you missed a gem.

I used to joke he had rubber in his bones because he always got up after a big hit.

Hed deke you outa your skates ....he was the full package.

You cheered harder for Mullen because he was a little guy that could do do much.

Johnny Gaudreau is going to make allot of people happy as I already see similarities.

Johnny has some impressive wheels tho.

Yeah, Man Mullen was awesome

Was it my dad?

I think he mentioned that as the point where he was too angry to continue following the Flames. He barely even glanced up to watch them during the '04 run.
