well Kovalchuk for Winnipeg seems like a stretch...Id have suggested Hawerchuk.
Sundin for the Laffs? What about Bower or many others?
I might put MSL ahead of Lecavalier as well for the Bolts

Hawerchuk never played for the franchise that is currently in Winnepeg.
He played for the franchise that is currently in Arizona.

Different franchise, that version of the Jets is now Arizona.
I'd have gone with Hasek in Buf, Lidstrom in Det and MSL in Tampa.

Exactly. The Winnipeg Jets of today are the Atlanta Thrashers and recent Jets, which makes Kovalchuk the obvious choice.

The question put forth was:
We asked you to name your favorite player from your favorite team -- of all time. And here is what you said ...
It doesnt say the best player from the franchise that preceded your franchise...hence Hawerchuk for Winnipeg...and Id take him over Kovy anyways. He was simply better all around.

Hawerchuk as the best Coyote and Kovalchuk as the best Jet. Haha suck it Winnipeg!
I liked that no other player came up for the Flames.

There's no one other than Kovy...you've got the wrong franchise for Hawerchuk...
...I would have picked Hawerchuk over Doan, though.

I'd say you look at The Coyotes (and possibly Avs and other teams that have moved) as different versions. Hawerchuk is the original Jets franchise guy and Doan is the current version.

Yzerman in Detroit over Howe is one you could debate. Seems like a case of the modern guy being more known to fans

Kovalachuk never played for the Winnipeg jets, he played for the same franchise as a Thrasher, so I can't see him being called the best Jet, Hawerchuck I could see be called the best Jet, so could Selanne.

I'd say Wendel Clark for the Leafs over Mats Sundin
