The funny thing is, NONE of the people taking these pictures and posting them would ever say something to someone's face. Much easier to just post it up and hope the person actually uses Twitter and is following this ######ed thing.

If it bothers you that much, sack up and say something there.

Sorry, I guess it makes you more of a petty criminal then a d-bag. You committed a crime because of something minor. You willfully damaged two cars because someone blocked you in and laughed, something not criminal and not requiring a response as such. There are other ways to deal with this, vandalism and hit and run certainly aren't them.

The fact you think you are in the right to damage two other people's property (and others as you said you would take a baseball bat to someone's car that you felt parked too close) because they inconvenienced you and your car is far superior to them does makes you a d-bag though.

In fact this whole thread is just awesome for that. People dying in the middle east, hunger in Africa, but we've got our own war here in calgary.....slightly poor parking!!! Let the shaming begin!

Look at this guy....,,and this guy!!! Ohhh terrible, I hope his kids die......I hope he's hit by a car!!! Oh and look at this fool!!! Ummm it made sense for him to park there as a contractor. Noooooooo, he should have parked across the street and made 12 trips with heavy tools!!!! We're the internet perking warriors, were always right. !!!!!!

Sorry cp I'm drunk. Carry on.
Gotta say, this is a very solid drunken post rant.

Our workplace is a disaster for parking, we moved to bigger diggs after merging a few companies to a fancy building on the ocean drive in Reykjavik, great building, awesome views, etc.. But the parking is horrible, we have this parking area in the back, which was supposed to be our new computer repair shop, it was decided to destroy the old building that was there to make room for more parking.

Anyhow, people park anywhere they can and one day I got this, note the guy is parked beside me in a spot which is not a parking spot, so it was a double whammy, I get here early enough that I can pick my spot, so I parked to the left edge to give whomever parks next to me plenty of room, of course that meant no one should park next to me...

Yet you have time to go on the internet, and post about people taking pictures and tweeting? Was the Yacht Club closed last night?

Okay so, in your mind, instead of being able to anonymously post pictures of people who park poorly... people should stand for what could be hours beside someone's car and berate them to their face when they come back.

This is not well thought out.

I some how picture you as one of those kids who grew up getting pranked on all the time and would say every time "seriously guys...stop it... that isn't funny... stop it..." and get laughed at cause all you'd do is just fuel the motivation for them to do it the next time

Sure they learned to never joke around with that kid or be friends with and he was properly ostracized as a result.

Its the degree of escalation. Mind you I think some dinks sense when the person is going to be the ozsome type and and try to get an overreaction out of them (i.e. bullying) which could have been the case here.
there's a big difference with physically harming someone and damaging the obstacle in your way.

in ozsome's case, what would you think he should've done?

call for a taxi and be late?
take transit and be late?
beg and plead for the coworkers to move their car and be late?

There's nothing psychotic about it. The coworkers used their cars as an obstacle to prevent him from leaving and should've accepted that there could be some resulting damage from ozsome trying to get out.

I agree with you for the most part, and the 2x4 is an ill-advised choice. But sometimes, certain people just need a good hit in the face. Not your buddy, just in general.

And I have to think that overall the guy who is willing to baseball bat someone else's ride for parking too close is likely the guy who was taking another kids book vs the guy who had his book taken (again just an example using your story). Unless you're a lifetime pushover that has had hit the last straw.

Ha I don't know what his case was, but for me, being a car guy, I'll park every vehicle I own like that. I absolutely abhor door dings, so even if I'm driving my truck which sees gravel roads and hauls loads of lumber, I'll still park in the middle of nowhere. If I see a nice BMW out there that just had a cut and polish I'll gladly park beside it, because I know, being a fellow car guy, he'll be respectful when opening his doors. Not only that, since I'll show the same respect when opening my doors, his car is now protected from someone else who may park beside him who won't show that mutual respect.

Alternatively, when I'm out with my car and I'm parked in the furthest spot away from the entrance, and come out and there's some 17 year old that parked his 1992 Honda Civic beside me that's seen better days, I think "You know what, there's a kid that may not have the best car on the road but he's a car guy and cares for it - kudos".

What. Is this conversation actually happening?

In no way is it okay to baseball bat someones car as the first reaction to them blocking you in.

So I have to stop at Walmart on my way home and grab a few things, and wanting to preserve the car in it's like new, glossy, wet glass looking condition for at least a couple days I park it about 8-10 stalls down from the next car in a totally empty area. There wasn't a car in any direction for probably 100 feet. I come out, and there is a rusty, beat up, POS late 80's, powder blue Thunderbird missing a hub cap parked right next to me.

Nothing worse than that. I got a massive door ding the first month after I got my Genesis when I was parked at the back of a parking lot all alone.

That d-bag was worse than Hitler.

Just bend there mirrors in odd angles, that way you are not damaging there cars just in-conveniencing them for a few minutes like they did to your self.

Technically also illegal as it is viewed as tampering if done intentionally.

Oh of course he would. No different than he could be charge for assault for punching one (or all) of them.

That doesn't mean they didn't earn it.

** I don't agree with Ozsome's method, but purposefully blocking in your car is definitely a doosh move. Especially if they knew he was in a rush.

If I was an outsider looking in on that situation, I would have laughed -- at both of them.
