don't they have the same "feature" video every year about the ability to deke/figure-skate . Was hoping to hear more about a defensive skill stick but looks like no such enhancement this year.
It's not a major feature of the game but I quite like mixing up a few matches with the outdoor games. Does anybody know if the outdoor games of last season will make it into NHL 15?

I read somewhere (Yahoo's NHL 15 interview, maybe?) that the Winter Classic won't be in XB1/PS4, but will remain on Xbox360/PS3. I think the justification was that they wanted to put all their focus into the authentic arenas. Which after seeing the abortion that is the Saddledome banners (horsehead logos instead of anything remotely relevant), they probably could've mixed in an outdoor stadium.

I don't know that a couple wrong skins on the banners is a good equivalent to an entire outdoor arena build.

Considering chances are good I will only ever see the banners once - the very first time I boot up a game to see what the intro is like - it really isn't a huge deal.

The part where they cut to the crowd made me so happy. Visually, this game looks fantastic. Hopefully the gameplay matches it.
Looks even better than FIFA14's crowd. You could feel a sense of the excitement and energy from the game but this has a chance of really selling that atmosphere from playing a game, to experiencing it.

It's just another feather in the NHL team's penchant of doing everything half-way.
"Check out our super awesome authentic arenas! ...with horribly out of date banners and details"
How about putting some actual effort into Be A GM mode for the first time in years. Like making it so I'm like a real NHL GM. You know, able to extend contracts mid-year or in the off-season instead of a weird made up 5-day window at the end of the season. Or structure contracts with variable salaries year-to-year instead of one average salary. Or contracts that are longer than five years. Or don't have my rookies be ineligible for the Calder trophy because they played 8 games the season before on a call-up.
So many things that even if they'd improved ONE thing every year it'd be a whole lot better by now. I guess they added restricted free agency in the last 5-6 years, but that's about it.

Any word on how many players are actually getting unique heads this time around?
I'm tired of generic looking Mark Giordano.
It's far from a difficult process, I used to make custom faces for the early EA games on the computer. It just boils down to laziness at this point on EA's behalf.

I highly doubt that the process you speak of is the same as when you used to customize faces on your computer. I'm pretty sure every player that has their real likeness in the game has been scanned in personally by a 360 degree camera. Far from laziness. It would be difficult getting players in to capture them all

Perhaps, but if they can't do a full scan of every player, why not use the old method and at least create a unique cyberface texture for the remaining players?
It's the same issue as discussed regarding the arena. They go the extra mile with a few things, but then cut corners with many other aspects.
Giordano, the captain of an NHL team last season, had a generic face in NHL14 yet again. It's a fair criticism just as it is to be disappointed that they're redesigning each arena, yet somehow have decade old banners? Its lazy.
Apparently between NHL13 and NHL14, EA Sports only added 17 new unique faces to players in the game, and only 13 NHL players.
