I vaguely remember during last years preseason tour, Mourinho was very disappointed with the attitude that Lukaku carried with him. I think he even asked for a transfer out if he wasn't slotted in for lots of playing time last year.

That would definitely do it haha though. I think keeping Torres is holding Chelsea back the same way keeping Iginla for too long was for the Flames; just less room for the upcoming strikers, but not really a game changer.

Wenger confirms what many have been thinking.

Wegner - Ospina To Challenge Sczesny

25 July 2014

Arseblog News

Although his signing hasn’t yet been made official, Arsene Wenger has more or less confirmed the arrival of David Ospina, and says that he’ll be coming on board to challenge Wojciech Szczesny.

Speaking in New York ahead of tomorrow’s friendly against the Red Bulls, the boss said, “You know at the start Szczensy will be the No. 1, then again we’ll be down to performances and, if Ospina shows that he is better, he will play.”

it looks like Arsenal is buying another full back - Callum Chambers from Southampton. Sky Sports say the fee is between 10 and 15 million pounds. Southampton is absolutely torn apart ... Lallana, Lambert, Lovren, Shaw and Chambers are all gone, with Schneiderlin seemingly out of the door as well and I doubt that guys like Clyne, Rodriguez and Wanyama are all too happy with being the last men standing. They'll go down if they don't spend all that money wisely.

EDIT: diane beat me to it

Unless Drogba is back to help bring Lukaku along. Then Jose has a guy who he picked to lead his line (Costa) and a guy who he has relied on before and knows how to get the best out of (Drogba) which is insurance on Lukaku, who has done well in the EPL with midtable clubs, but is now having the added pressure of a contending team and more midweek games

That attitude being that he wanted more playing time as it was a world cup year. The exact same thing that Mourinho said was important when he was trolling Rooney and United.

Drogba is not insurance on Lukaku. He is over the hill and a last 15 minute sub for Jose's Garryowen's tactics.

Remy failed his medical

Liverpool backed out of the deal

wonder if it's like when Stoke failed a medical for Demba Ba because his knee is basically going to fall apart at some point, and they didn't think the contract was worth the risk

Apparently Remy has a heart condition that was detected when QPR bought him from Marseilles, its possible that its gotten worse.

Gazzetta dello Sport say Manchester United have offered €60m for Arturo Vidal.

http://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Serie-...68683647.shtml

if true, I doubt they'd refuse to sell ... I really hope this goes through. Vidal comes back from holiday today, so I guess we'll find out one way or another pretty soon. The price tag is crazy, but Vidal would be worth it. Vidal - Herrera behind Mata and suddenly United would have one of the best midfields in the world ...

---------------------------De Gea
----------Jones------------Evans----------Smalling
Rafael--------------------------------------------------Shaw
-------------------Vidal------------Herrera
----------------------------Mata
------------------Rooney-----------van Persie

Subs: Lindegaard, Valencia, Carrick, Januzaj, Kagawa, Welbeck

one or two more CBs (Vermaelen, de Vrij) and they'd be set.

What the hell happened to Torres? I almost feel sorry for him at this point. Poor bugger couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat these days.

Went to the Liverpool vs. Olympiakos game in Chicago today. It was quite fun!

I think one can tell that Liverpool has qualities. Sturridge and Sterling are just so good. Did not really get an impression of Markovic though but I think he did okay on his wing.
