Don't mean to derail but was just looking at when some of the players are due for renegotiation and was thinking about this...
Assuming they don't play 10 games with the Flames this year, and assuming they get the other guys signed (don't like to post on assumptions but I think these are reasonable), the Flames will have the following players all sliding this year:
Bennett
Poirier
Klimchuk
Smith
McDonald
Kanzig
and possibly Hickey and Ollas-Mattson if they get signed this summer
(I thought Sieloff too, bit capgeek isn't showing that)
Can you recall any team ever having that much talent all on sliding ELCs at one time?
Imagine Klimchuk-Bennett-Poirier as a line in the CHL this year!

I don't know the last time I was this excited for a season to start. I can't wait to see him and Johnny playing in a flames uni for at least 9 games for Bennett and hopefully more for JG. Damn, so fun!

Unless Bennett really forces the Flames hands he will be back to junior, maybe without playing any regular season games. Personally I want to see him back to Junior so other young players (Gaudreau, Sven, and Granlund get a chance in the top 6).

Isn't Biznasty a UFA? And like Engelland can play with wing and defence?
Flames are looking for another depth defenceman.
Flames should sign him.
