Impossible. Haven't they heard? The plane was full of already dead bodies.

Article saying an Su-25 wouldn't be able to shoot down MH17.

The only firsthand account of his hair-raising experience comes from RTV Oost, a regional broadcasting station in the Netherlands that interviewed de Jonge after he sent out a tweet on Thursday saying: “If I had left today, then ... ” In the interview, de Jonge explained that he originally wanted to fly on the day of the crash, when his mother and a friend would have been able to take him to Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport. But he doesn't mention a booking on MH17. He decided to get a flight to Kuala Lumpur on another airline, with a stopover in Frankfurt, on Sunday, because it was cheaper.

So how about de Jonge's other close brush with death—his booking on MH370 on March 8? There's even less to the story there. According to RTV Oost, de Jonge flew from Kuala Lumpur to Taipei on that day; that's roughly the same direction as MH370's destination, Beijing, he told the reporter, “so I could have been on that plane as well.”

But there was zero reason for de Jonge to be on MH370 if his destination was Taipei; it would have been a 2,500-kilometer (1,553-mile) detour, and he would have had to buy a separate ticket for the Beijing–Taipei leg, which Malaysia Airlines doesn't serve. (Due to long-standing tensions between China and Taiwan, his options would have been limited to only a handful of flights daily between the two capitals.)

It's a pretty different situation if you were looking at booking a doomed flight. When I'm booking flights, I'll have a few bookings open in different tabs to see which one will work best (time, $$, etc.), and if one of my options had been a flight that ended up going down, I'd count myself pretty lucky as well.

This little boy apparently had a sense something bad was going to happen. How heartbreaking.

Everyone needs a little attention, or their 15 seconds of fame, some take it to an extreme.

Blame journalistic standards, its been that way for a long time because they're in such a rush to break a story that they forget to fact check because while a good story appears on the front page and makes money, a retraction appears on the last page and takes no space.

What a perfect way to demonstrate how much they value life. Individual escort for each dead individual, on a smooth clear road, with 100s welcoming. Contrast that to being thrown into a malfunctioning refrigerator train and have people search and steal your belongings beside your burnt body.

I think this too, but don't you think given Putin's style at least the hillbilly rebel crew will be taken care of unofficially?

I know we'll never hear of it, but I would imagine these guys who embarrassed Putin will get their justice, or at least one can hope.

One of the rebel leaders admits that the self-proclaimed Republic of Donetsk faction had a Buk missile system from Russia and suggests it was sent back to Russia after the plane crash to hide it.

He then goes on to say that Ukrainian forces knew they had it and purposely flew missions in the area to antagonize the rebels to use it in a dangerous fashion around civilian aircrafts.

Seriously, these guys are complete cretins. There is no end to their conspiracy theories.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/malaysi...stem-1.2716368

Quote:
In an interview with Reuters, Alexander Khodakovsky, commander of the Vostok Battalion, acknowledged for the first time since the airliner was brought down in eastern Ukraine on Thursday that the rebels did possess the Buk missile system and said it could have been sent back subsequently to remove proof of its presence.

Before the Malaysian plane was shot down, rebels had boasted of obtaining the Buk missiles, which can shoot down airliners at cruising height. But since the disaster the separatists' main group, the self-proclaimed People's Republic of Donetsk, has repeatedly denied ever having possessed such weapons.
Quote:
Khodakovsky accused the Kyiv authorities for provoking what may have been the missile strike that destroyed the doomed airliner, saying Kyiv had deliberately launched air strikes in the area, knowing the missiles were in place.

....

"And that day, they were intensively flying, and exactly at the moment of the shooting, at the moment the civilian plane flew overhead, they launched air strikes. Even if there was a Buk, and even if the Buk was used, Ukraine did everything to ensure that a civilian aircraft was shot down."

That was pretty powerful stuff. It just shows the absolute extreme contrast between a civilized westernized nation, and a deceptive armpit country like Russia.

I used to buy into and chuckle at the the whole Vladimr Putin, Chuck Norris style meme. But the man is an absolutely evil assclown leading that dumpster fire of a country with propaganda and lies. If Putin wants to save face, he needs to apologize for arming the rebels, and pay massive reparations to the Dutch families his utter disregard for life has caused so much misery. He is such a POS narcissist though, he is probably getting off on this whole situation.

I suspect he truly believes he has done nothing wrong.
