So if someone claims him.. he could have a 50 or a 63 OVR rating. The risk is all in the claimer, that does not seem right to me.

I think it was mentioned in the other thread that those players will get a rating below 60.

Alternatively I can assign a rating and give Ravi the chance to pluck him off the waiver wire.
But there is no risk for you - because you don't have to claim him.

there is risk in the sense he has to be on my NHL roster if I do claim him. If he is a 58 OVR dead weight, that would not make me want to claim him.
