Does the fee actually go to supporting the troops? I hate that I have to be "that guy" as obviously having this option doesn't hurt anyone, but this "Support the Troops" thing means about as much as liking a charity on Facebook. It's so empty.

Press release that gives all that info:
http://alberta.ca/release.cfm?xID=36...DFFA1748AD7B2C

"The new plate will be available for a one-time fee of $75, in addition to regular registration fees, at registry agents across the province. From each sale of the plate, $55 will go to the Support Our Troops Program, administered by the Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services, to help current and former members of the Canadian Armed Forces and their families in Alberta. The remainder of the funds will cover the cost to produce and distribute the plate."

So they only have six digits with no dash - how is that going to work then with the current set up?

Or will there be an entirely new format for just these plates like there are for the veteran ones?

That's normally part of the AB logo.

God thats a cluttery plate.

Add in 3 stickers in addition to the flag, red text, yellow ribbon, AB Logo, and you got yourself a horrid looking plate.

The AB veteran ones were so well done, these are terrible comparatively. Love the cause, poor excecution.
