There was a Mike Myers movie where the mom believed those English fish wraps were all real.

No, I referenced the two tabloids when you guys jumped on me about who claimed Putin shot the plane down. I showed you that there were indeed media outlets claiming exactly that. Now, obviously Tabloids are Tabloids and they're gonna go with the headline that grabs a persons eye, but it shows that there was a purposeful and deliberate attempt to blame Putin/Russia before any actual facts were known.
Has anybody actually clicked on the link I've linked to several times now? Russia has released actual spy Satellite photos and radar from the area showing exactly what they think happened. I'd love to compare them to the photos released from the US spy satellites that prove the rebels were involved, but they haven't released any yet. Are we just supposed to believe they exist?

That's pretty damning

To the first bolded part, AP reported that Ukraine had moved BUK systems east near Slavyansk in early July.

To the second bolded part, they could just as well been moving russian dolls. Speculation and demonization doesn't pass for news.
So why not just wait for actual facts to come forward from the investigation before having a witch hunt?

Unless the reason for referencing a tabloid is to show something outlandish and idiotic, and NOT something representative of actual mainstream media, then it really doesn't matter what other information is presented once someone admits to referencing a tabloid.
I'm not saying CNN is a saint, but you can't reference tabloids and still expect to maintain credibility. I think it might actually be impossible.

So the Russians claim that a Ukrainian fighter jet was near the Malaysian flight a couple minutes before it went down. Given that the rebels had shot down a couple planes before, would this not suggest (and using the Russian reddit explanation) that the rebels, without all the proper equipment for the BUK, saw the fighter, took a shot and missed but hit the Malaysian flight instead? This sounds like a more plausible explanation than the Ukrainians did it. I can't see the Ukrainians doing it just because they have so much to lose if they get caught. The rebels, not as much.

Thank you for clicking the link.
I don't speak or read Russian either, so I'm only going by the translations as well.
But what I'm taking away from it is that the Russians detected a Ukranian Su-25 that was gaining height towards MH17 on the day of the crash. There were also multiple Ukranian BUK missile sites in the area around the shootdown, despite Kievs assertions otherwise. Why is Kiev covering up the fighter jet in the sky, and why are they lying about the BUKS unless they have something to hide?
I think a very plausible explanation is that MH17 was accidently shotdown by the Ukranians during a military exercise, and that they immediatlely went into cover-up/denial mode as a reflex. It wouldn't be the first time the Ukraninan military has accidently shot down a commercial jet before.

I think you guys are misinterpreting what I'm trying to say, I'll try and explain it another way.
I like to read from as many disparate news sources as I can, because there is an inherent bias in any media. CNN is biased towards the west and has their "facts". RT is biased towards the east and has their own set of "facts", which are in direct odds with CNNs. Both sides can't be telling the truth, and both sides are probably lying, but I believe an objective reading of both sides "facts" will get me closer to the actual truth, which is usually located somewhere in the middle.
Right now I'm leaning towards the "east" side because they are the only ones to produce any kind of evidence, rather than the speculation and misinformation we've gotten from the "west".
Who knows, tomorrow the US/UKR could finally release volumes of information showing missile plumes and rebels dancing in the streets. We could actually compare and contrast the 2 sets of evidence, and if its more credible than the Russians I would change my tune in a heartbeat.

No, sorry, that's not how it works. Lies don't balance out the truth and produce reality somewhere in the middle. The only facts you have provided here is that you are complete moron lacking in critical thinking skills and common sense.

I'm sorry I think I've missed all the facts that you've provided in this thread?
Clearly we disagree, but I've done nothing but explain my position (as controversial as it apparantly is) in a polite and respectful manner, and I've been called a moron, stupid, and a tinfoil hat conspiracy theorist. Can we leave the name calling out of this?

You probably shouldn't have, because now you're just looking worse and worse. You tell me I should follow a source like RT - one where numerous journalists and anchors have quit after being told by Russian authorities to outright lie. CNN is trash, but for an entirely different reason. Frankly, I would call anyone who says that we should be paying much attention to either of these sources a fool. There are far better options out there that don't require tinfoil hats to try and reinterpret either blatant Russian government propaganda or vacuous American infotainment. And none of them back the fantasy that you bought from Russia.

It's pretty arrogant of you to assume that most people in this thread do not do the same thing.

Parents Who Lost 3 Children on MH17 Say Life Is 'Hell Beyond Hell'
Quote:
The Western Australian parents of three children, who were killed with their grandfather on Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, released a heartbreaking statement on Wednesday.
Anthony Maslin and Rin Norris lost their three children — Mo, 12, Evie, 10, and Otis, 8 — plus Norris's father, Nick, when the plane was shot from the sky above a field in eastern Ukraine on Thursday. The children and their grandfather were returning from a family holiday in Amsterdam on the doomed MH17, while their parents remained behind.
