Plane crashes take a hell of a long time to investigate, and it was very suspicious to me that CNNBCFOX all reported, while the plane was still smoldering in the ground, that it was definitely Putin/Russia/Rebels that shot the plane down, despite not having any solid evidence backing them up. Heck, the Malaysian investigators only arrived at the crash site today!

We still have yet to see any concrete evidence from either the Ukraine or the US showing that the Rebels played any part in this, while Russia has already started releasing satellite and radar data to the public, which allegedly shows that they detected radiation from a Ukranian anti-aircraft missile battery, and that they tracked a Ukranian fighter jet within 3-5km of MH17, minutes before the crash.

Seriously, after the WMD fiasco in Iraq, why are you so willing to give these mass media corporations the benefit of the doubt when it comes to national-security issues?

I can't tell you why they want to inflame anti-Russian sentiment, but it certainly fits into the anti-Putin, pro-Kiev narrative they've been spinning the past few months.

1. Which satelites show that? The ones the US and Ukranians claim to have? Why haven't they released them to the public yet?
2. Again, who observed these heat signatures? Where is the evidence?
3. This is just not true, there were multiple Ukranian BUKs in the Donetsk region, which is suspicious in of itself, in that the Rebels don't have any aircraft.
4. So two weeks ago, there was some suspiciously tarped trucks and they may or may not have possibly had hidden BUKS underneath. Can you see how this is not very strong evidence?
5. Who identified this SAM training site? What made them identify it as a SAM training site? Where are the photos?

And for what possible reason could there be an anti-Putin narrative the last months? I'm pretty skeptical of CNN and other news sources and the American propaganda machine as well but the theory that it was some drunk Russian separatists who shot the plane down, seems pretty reasonable to me.

I don't remember that CNN sedment from Desert Storm but I remember the phony stories like this one that Bush and CNN reported over and over.

In this case I don't think it's bull####. Putin is making another land grab in the Ukraine. It can't be argued and he's supplying the separatists with weapons and I believe even officers from the Russian army, if not regular troops. It's not hard to figure out who the bad guys are in this scene.

I haven't watch CNN in years and didn't have to check any news sources to know what the most reasonable scenario was.

At this point the Ukrainians aren't ballsy enough to shoot at Russian planes as they know it would be the end of them and the rebels themselves aren't using planes. The is no logical reason that Ukraine would be firing missiles at planes in that area.

The fact the separatists don't have aircraft, had shot down multiple aircraft in recent days, and the plane went down deep in their territory, tells me it was likely them. The Ukrainian SAM sites would be operated by professional soldiers with complete radar systems vs a militia running around with just the launch vehicle. The theory it was Ukraine or the West assumes the plane was on targeted purpose, when it's more than likely a terrible accident by ill equipped, poorly trained militants.
