He just has a real persecution complex when it comes to Hollywood and not getting the chair on major movies. He makes average movies that are small, no one is going to hand him the keys to a Ferrari, he doesn't seem to get that.
Kevin Smith is one of the biggest Star Wars geeks in all of the land. Im pretty sure all of his movies have some sort of Star Wars reference in them.
So if he's saying what he said and meaning it, which I believe he is, we should all be excited for what J.J is doing with VII.
In that clip he says he liked Episodes 1, 2, and 3. That disqualifies him as someone whose opinion I'm going to put weight in.

Well, he took a simple question, "How did it feel to be on the Millennium Falcon", and turned it into a 10 minute speech, which just happened to include references to how he's friends with Ben Affleck and a bunch of his own movies.
It's great that the guy's passionate about movies, and passionate about comic books, but the thing he's most passionate about is talking about himself (and generally hearing himself talk).

And the Edmonton Oilers which shows that his judgment and opinions are clearly No Good.

He was doing a talk with fans, no? I would imagine if they weren't there to hear him talk about himself and his experiences, it would have been rather boring no?
If you watch the video in 1080P at full-screen, when it zooms out, it looks like the wing is split front-to-back, not one on top of the other.
You can see how the guns are mounted. The bottom gun is attached to the front of the wing, which curves down at the end. The top gun is attached at the back of the wing, which curves up.

Call me a sucker for different designs, but I never had an appreciation for the X or Y wing fighters, I was always a fan of the TIE and the Tie Interceptor because they were so different.
I will say that I loved the ARC-170 from the prequels.
In the EU the Stealth-X was a very sleek re-creation of the X-Wing
To be honest, I never liked that design. but if you really want to overwhelm something with overwhelming fire power, there was always the very nasty K-Wing
