Unpeeled shrimp at buffet's.
Women who crank the thermostat in the office.
Green slacktivism. If you own a vehicle and live in anything more than a 500 square foot apartment you aren't 'doing your part' by buying a Brita and packing grocery bags.
Trying to use tables in MS Word.
Neighbours who think lawn mowing is a quarterly event.
People with poorly behaved dogs.
People who chose not to go into O&G and then bitch about the salary variance.
Cheesy public art/architechture. E.g. Along Crowchild, the random coloured squares on Birchwood building across from UofC, cheesy amateur barbwire art at Sarcee, snowflakes at Nose Hill etc.
Stupid kid names by white parents in the burbs.
Those clips that are used to attach various parts on vehicles that explode when you try to pry them.
People that rush to get on a plane.
People that rush to get off a plane who have checked baggage.
World cup flags/horn honking, no one cares.
Magpies.

My latest gear grinder....
I've come to grips with grocery stores turning me into my own checkout clerk, but it drives me absolutely f'n crazy when they close a bunch of the machines.
Safeway last night.....6 machines, 2 of them open. 6pm on a Friday.....wtf? So now the lineups are long AND I get to bag my own groceries? GMG.

It really grinds my gears when the "self checkout monitor" acts all put out when they have to enter the override code because something doesn't scan properly. I (the customer) am already doing the lion's share of the work here bub, please don't get all gruff when you have to walk your fat ass 5 feet to clear a machine.

That movie trailer for Lucy that perpetuates the myth that we only use 10% of our brain.

That the city hasn't unified the Crowchild Trail signs. Why not go with just North/South or East/West or combine the two.

All these kid cartoons that have to teach you the alphabet or to count. Soooooo boring. Not like your three year old is going to become an astro physicist because of it. What happened to all the fun bugs bunny type cartoons from way back? Can you imagine having to learn about Newtons laws of motion during Lord of the Rings?

On top of that, speculating that if the myth was true, and we unlocked 100% of our brain, we'd somehow have crazy psychic super powers.
At least the movie Limitless took a look at it in a semi-plausible way, where he just gets super smart.

People who knock instead of using the doorbell. Unless I hang around by the front door all day, I'm not going to hear your gentle little knocks...so please use the illuminated round button located conveniently by the door.

YEah. I can suspend reality for a good Sci-fi movie any time. They could have the exact same story, but not had the 10% brain thing and it would be fine. There is no way i can enjoy this movie now.

You know you are a nerd when you hope Summer goes quicker to see a comic-book movie.

You Know What Really Grinds My Gears....The Sequel!
EDIT: You know what, I take it back.
People who judge Science fiction based on it's plausibility are crazy. And I'm ok with crazy.

To be fair, a solution to my issue is moving the release date up, thus not requiring summer to move any quicker.

People who complain about the plausibility of science fiction movies.
The way they handled the fictional element of time travel didn't seem plausible to you? The fictional serum the guy took didn't have a medically plausible outcome to you? Telekinetic powers aren't a reasonably plausible outcome of the fictional act of "unlocking" percentages of the human brain you say? The completely fictional alternate-worlds they've created where these things are a reality include elements that are TOO fictional for you?
Cool.

There is a difference. If they take a premise that has already been determined to be false, for decades, and use it as their base then it is tough to buy in. If they use some future-tech that has not been invented yet you can buy-in.
