Wtf??? Atheist's criticize all cul...I mean religions. You do know a lot of the people who shaped this world are Atheists right ? The USA founding Fathers ,Bill gates,Devinci , Galilaio, Aristotle Eienstein The Curies, Tesla, Sir Issac Newton etc etc. Almost every majour influence in the the progression on intellectual progression of man was an Atheist. Religions ( Norse, Greeks, durids, sun worshiping etc) have come and gone.Scientific minds of progression have always stayed. You can't kill of any particular group. You would have to eliminate free will and independent thinking as a whole. Impossible without these types of science oriented minds.

I don't think the point was to compare/contrast Christianity with Islam, it was that the Inquisitions did stop.
It's incredibly easy to look at another religion or another culture or another country and judge how terrible or immoral or inferior or stupid they are in contrast with our religion or culture or country.
But would I be any different if I'd been born into that situation? Look at the video of the rocket being launched with the children. Are they human shields? Looks more like they being trained into the same patterns of hate and violence by their parents and community.
If I'm raised to think a religion justifies an Inquisition or taking slaves or genocide or misogyny or whatever, then more often than not that's what I'll think and act on. If I don't most likely it's because I've been given an alternative view.

But comparing religious views of historical figures in today's context is problematic in the same way as comparing cultures.. The environments are so radically different.

So I'm talking to my good friend Muscle today and he tells me about Calgary Puck and how he was banned. So I'm like yeah, I used to post there as well but it's been a few years since I posted there.
Pylon and his little buddies are the ones that should be getting banned, especially since I asked him to apologise and he runs away like the little coward that he is after falsely accusing my friend of being a racist and an xenophobe.

I fail to see what he said here that's so racist. Where did he use derogatory racist terms? Telling someone to go back to where they came from is not racist and is merely a figure of speech, a suggestion to smarten up if you will.

Don't be that guy . seriously Its a world wide web he should of expected it. I've had a few scuff ups with pylon myself. Those were discussions that were not over the edge . we both had some respect and didn't cross the line. If any thing I respect him more for him sticking to his convections. If you have to say "I'm not racist but" 9/10 times you are. Coming on this board on behalf of him just to ruffle feathers is most likely going to hurt your cause. No one was responsible for His Action's that lead to a ban . The one person that is responsible for ones self is their self.

You forget the Victors of war right the history. My friend who grew up in Germany was taught the Allies were the evil force set out the destroy the world in schools.
With regards to the swastika . Hitler stole that symbol . It was originally part of the culture of Inda for 5000 years before the Nazis used it.
And the chant was used to indocernate youth into believing he was like a god.
I am not uninformed my dear sir. I had family that had fought on behalf of both sides of the War. I am a HUGE history/Ethology/Electrical buff.
