Granlund and Klimchuk are close but we've watched Granlund play some in the NHL and looked good so he gets my vote. Damn shoulder separation.

I wish that what happens at HF would stay at HF. That applies to the posters as well.

I'm actually more surprised by the degree of granularity that people have in ranking these prospects.

I'm guessing that, collectively, it's felt that there is even less of a gap between Poirier and Granlund

Where do you guys think Tim Erixon would go on this list?

I feel that there's a pretty big gap between Poirier and Klimchuk. Look at their AHL performances last year. Poirier stepped in and did the same stuff he was doing in junior. I like Klimchuk as a prospect, but I love Poirier. I voted for him ahead of Sven.

Poirier is a goal scorer with a two way game, good hands, good shot, blazing speed and a mean streak. Those are the kind of players you have to draft. Poirier is a total gem.

Behind Grandlund and Wotherspoon. Loser.

Speaks to the potential forward depth that a guy selected in the 1st round last year in Klimchuk will go out of the top 5. That's before mentioning our highest drafted prospect ever went 2nd to previous 4th round wunderkind Gaudreau.

And if Monahan didn't make the team last year, he would be a spot lower still.

If he'd have signed and stuck it out, I feel he wouldn't be a prospect at this point. He'd have gotten his opportunities and improved already. But the what if's are moot now as out of that debacle we have a double edge sword instead of a butter knife in Granlund and Wotherspoon. Wotherspoon/Granlund >> Erixon. Feaster's best trade IMO.

Probably our top defensive prospect (not by much though), and in the 6-8 range overall.

He has seen more NHL time than Wotherspoon, and has excelled in the AHL but his inability to crack the lineup as a full time NHL player so far in his career leaves some doubt.

But then again he is only 23 and as a defenseman he may still have plenty of development ahead of him, and will probably make the Jacket's lineup this fall.

Went with Klimchuk. Looks like a guy that will put up serious points at the NHL level.

I can understand picking Granlund as he looks like he can pot some goals as well. I just don't see where he fits in longterm versus Bennett/Monahan/Backlund etc.

My guess is that Granlund probably ends up as a winger. Apparently he played a bunch of wing last season and he played wing in Finland the season that his brother was on the team. I wouldn't mind seeing them play him at RW as he sure seems to score a lot of his goals from that side of the ice.

Strongly disagree putting Tom ahead of Wotherspoon. Wotherspoon is two years younger and showing great progress every year while Tom seems to be stagnating and at the stage if he fails to get a spot this season will be heading back to Europe. Depending on his shoulder surgery Wotherspoon should be in line for a NHL spot this season.

I wouldn't trade Wotherspoon for Tom straight up.

Erixon would be lucky to crack our top 10.

Granlund for me this time - though it was very close with Klimchuk.

Granlund has an elite shot already (imo), good skating, and very good IQ. Did very well in his first pro season in the North America, and Hartley loved the kid it seemed and trusted him in all situations. Definite top 6 potential.

Klimchuk for me is right there too. I think after this upcoming season, many will feel Klimchuk is 'underrated' (and probably is at the moment). Simply chose Granlund over Klimchuk as he is a bit further ahead and a bit more proven, but also because Granlund plays center. Granlund only by a flip of the coin essentially.

Klimchuk still criminally underrated - he's my pick here.

I was going between 4 or 5 guys, ended up picking Klimchuk. Great to have a lot of options now.
