Wotherspoon for me this round in a close race with Reinhart/Poirier.
Neither look to have the offensive upside of Granlund or Poirier but I have my doubts about either of those guys transferring their current offensive output to the NHL so I went with a guy that seems like a more sure thing.
I don't see Wotherspoon as ever being a top pairing guy or Qbing the PP but he does seem like he has a chance to play in the top 4 and be a steady guy that really makes it easier to make pairings as he can make up for mistakes made by his partner and play with any kind of partner.
I could see him protecting a Wideman/Russel type guy with all their mistakes and defensive letdowns or playing with a more defensive type in a shutdown role letting the top pairing get more offensive/easy minutes.
This year will be interesting for me to see Poirier to get a better sense of how his play with translate into the NHL, especially his offense.

Decided yesterday I'd vote Poirier today, but I voted Granlund. Poirier is going to win.
Will I vote Granlund again tomorrow? I'm not sure... Now I'm leaning towards Wotherspoon.
I see Reinhart as more of a 'sure thing' than Granlund due to his versatility, and he also produced just as well this year for the Heat. Maybe I'll vote Reinhart.
I don't have a clue at this point. I really like Klimchuk too, and if it weren't for his injuries, he'd be right in the mix with Poirier IMO.

I won't vote goaltender until around 8-10... just too unpredictable.

Well it does help that we have a cupboard full of high potential forwards in front of them to make our decisions easier.

I remember Red Line Report saying if Poirier's 2013 season had lasted a couple more weeks he would have been a top 15 pick.

I was too slow to vote in Round 3, but I would've taken Poirier last round so I'm definitely taking him now.

It looks like Poirier and Granlund go 4 and 5 with Klimchuk and Wotherspoon being 6th and 7th.

Granlund for all the same reasons as last round.
He's the most well-rounded player on the board.

Poirier for me. Then Klimchuk then Gillies. the problem with Granlund for me is that most of his success was because of Reinhart. And he only played 9 NHL games. He played great but it wasn't a huge sample size.

I voted for Gillies. He has great potential. I will say Poirier over Granlund though, if I had to choose between the two

Granlund was a good surprise when he got called up until he got injured. Why? Hartley loved the kid, and IIRC, kept throwing him out in big situations to take faceoffs. He definitely has 'impact potential' on the Flames, considering how he did in the NHL and how much confidence Hartley showed in Granlund.
As an aside, it just makes the "Hartley doesn't like Baertschi" or "treats him unfairly" to be nothing more than drivel. Show Hartley you are willing to play an intense, mature game, and he will keep throwing you out even if you make a few mistakes. Can't think of a better coach at the moment who seems to have an instinct as to when to increase the icetime allotted to rookies under tough circumstances, and when to reign them back in when needed. Doing a heck of a job as a developmental coach!

If Baertschi and Poirier are indeed better prospects than Granlund then the Flames are only a couple of years from being top 8 in the league
Gaudreau - Monahan - Colborne
Baertschi - Bennett - Poirier
Glencross- Granlund- Hudler

I voted Granlund. While Poirier is very exciting, what Granlund did was in a tougher league. Toss up for me

Gotta go with Granlund since we've already seen what he has done in the pros.

Wish I could find that scouting report I found a few months ago ... suggests he has to work harder than anyone to be as fast as he is because his stride is inefficient. And that that extra expulsion of energy over a career could take a toll.

Hope they have a tonne of tough decisions to make with players pushing from all sides.
Will be fun to watch.

Lots of guys need to improve their skating.
With his natural speed, if he can improve his stride, it is a frightening thought!
