Anyone wanna come houseboating Aug long with 50+ others?
Hey guys and gals,
I thought I would throw this in here since we have had some spots open up on our HUGE houseboating trip this coming Aug long weekend.
We are a group of 20-35 year old men and women that go houseboating every year and have an absolute blast together. This year will be even bigger as this year we have 3 boats for a total of up to 53 people. If you're looking for something fun to do for Aug long, come meet some new people and help us make this the best weekend of the summer! We're a good mix of party animals with a few laid back people, we do games and stuff during the day either out on the water or on the beach. We will likely be holding a large beer pong tourney one of the days and will have a couple other big things planned throughout the weekend like theme nights, etc.
If you're interested feel free to msg me on here or on facebook. The link to the event is https://www.facebook.com/events/284999141657911/
It's $330/person and that includes the boat and gas. The only thing you'll need to bring is some food and of course booze. We will be arranging car pools as well so if you don't have a ride, let me know! We sold some of the rooms at the start but still have some rooms available and will likely draw names out of a hat the day we arrive to decide who gets them, that way all the stragglers that sign up last have a chance at a room too.
The trip is from Aug 2-5. Some of us may go up early and camp on the thursday or friday as well.
Hope to see some of you guys out there!
Jason

Wow. I can use a trip after the past few weeks I've had, and meeting some new people is great too. I'll give this some serious consideration.
For anyone that has never gone houseboating (Shuswap I imagine Jason?) it's absolutely something you have to do at least once as a Canadian. A great time, and a lot of different things to do depending on how hard you want to party, or relax. And given Jasons post, the $330 is quite reasonable.

Used to do the houseboating thing on the Shuswap and it was always a great time. Anyone interested should seriously take Jason up on his offer - you won't regret it!

When you're drunk from 9 am to 3 am, it is only one time.

You're doing it wrong if your getting drunk three times a day. You get drunk once per day, and stay drunk till you pass out.
But yeah, by the third day I was smashed four beers in I think. No blood left in my alcohol stream.

Thanks for the vouch guys, yes it is definitely a great time! And yes it's the Shuswaps.
I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty well drunk from the drive up till the drive home. This year I might be a little more responsible as I'll be organizing 53 people and 3 boats but I'm sure I'll still be going pretty hard the moment we get on the boats till the moment we dock again to go home.
Trust me, it's the time of your life and you get to meet a ton of new people.

I think I saw your group a few years back, there were 3 big boats together on party beach and one of them was flying a blow up sex doll as a flag, was that you?

I can also vouch for Jason (Hi-Psi) .. Although he is weird, a bit creepy, and can't put a puck in the back of the net he is generally harmless and a great dude... did I mention weird and creepy?

I would so be there if I could get out to Calgary, houseboating is one of the best experiences I've had on Shuswap, sooooo much fun.
Maybe next summer?

Prior to opening the thread I was wondering why a seniors group was going house boating.

Every time I drive past Waterways I'm reminded of the total debauchery I experienced when I went houseboating.
The only way I'll ever do it again is with my kids. Even then I might vomit from the anxiety when I step foot on that dock, and flashes of WCW wrestlers, porn stars, fireworks and wheelchairs go through my head.
Anyone under 30 needs to do it at least once though.

My last houseboat trip was a bit like Apocalypse Now.

Jacks - I will admit that we have used blow up sex dolls in the past as boat markers but we never had 3 boats before... haha
Trout - Right now we're actually at about 70% women which is pretty damn awesome and only about 25% of those are in relationships which is even better haha. I need to find a womens forum to post this on so as to keep these numbers in our favor haha
And don't let Nick fool you, I'm a lot more creepy and weird than he says :-P Keeeeding(But not really) haha
This will be my first time ever being single for houseboating so I'm pretty freaking stoked to be able to have fun and not worry about a significant other for a change.
