mixed slow pitch leagues are awesome. Lot's of drunk horny girls.
mixed soccer leagues I don't know about, but when I talk to people who play in them it doesn't sound near as fun as what drunk co-ed slow pitch used to be like.

Drunk and horny is not always enticing especially when slow pitch girls typically look like this:

I have often thought that the best test for the hardest sport is to have athletes from each sport do the others and see who does best in these other sports. It is pretty obvious that the best hockey players would generally not embarrass themselves playing other sports. However, other sports athletes on ice skates: Bambi on ice.

Verdict: Hockey is the bestest and hardest sport!!

and,,,,,,? a drunk girl on her knees about to cup a ball, what's wrong with that?

but seriously, there were a lot of nice looking ones when I played, and most if not all were in their 20's, that girl looks a bit older.

This I think we can all agree on.

Reminds me of that show Pro's vs Joe's, wasn't often they included hockey in their competitions, but it did happen a few times. I'm pretty sure it was Clyve Drexler (NBA) that absolutely embarrassed himself on the ice. Mind you, no one was ever good at any of the hockey competitions, the one i'm specifically thinking of, had a puck in each of the 5 face-off circles, the contestant started at the goal line on one end, and had to get all 5 pucks into the net at the other end, they could skate the pucks all the way up, or shoot from wherever, and didn't have to get 1 puck at a time or anything, and I think the fastest time was in the 2 minute range (I could be off, I just remember it being hilarious and embarrassing for everyone).
It was an american show though, so a lot of these guys had never even seen ice before, let alone skate.

I definitely agree, the average hockey player is likely one of the most well rounded athletes.

EDIT: (since I helped derail the thread for the better part of the afternoon) You know what RGMG?! That Pro's vs Joe's isn't on TV anymore, I really enjoyed that show.

Skating to me is more of a skill than necessarily a barometer of how "hard" a sport is. I think both soccer and hockey are some of the toughest sports out there to play from a fitness standpoint. Lots of stops and starts, with a random mix of medium/high bursts of energy, which is to me much harder than a consistent medium-level effort.

The thing that I think makes soccer a little harder physically is that there's greater distances to cover, without the aid of gliding, and that there are (almost) no line changes (although they can rest a bit when the action is elsewhere).

I would say that rugby is a more all around taxing sport than soccer, as it taxes aerobic, anaerobic fitness, as well as muscular endurance, and muscular strength.

I agree that skating is a skill, much like hitting a baseball.

Yeah, I'd imagine Rugby is pretty damn tough to play too.

It GMG's that I have to do this window washing job. I can't sell, I'm terrible at interacting with homeowners. They give me all of this motivational bull that I know won't work and worst of all if I make 0 sales then I make 0 cash. You'd think I could get a normal desk job somewhere but I can't work at those jobs because I don't have a work permit. You know what? My whole pathetic life GMG's. I wish there was something out there for me but I just don't know if there is /rant.

You can't find any manual labour job? A lot more steady than commission. I feel for you though man.

I can honestly make a lot of money off of this job (over $1000 a week) but I just can't sell jack squat. I have no idea how all of the top salesmen do it.

Because they don't think of it like this:

Believe in yourself, believe in the product, and believe in the "motivational bull". If you don't, or you can't at least fake it, you'll never be good at selling. Let "No" roll off your back and hit it again. It's not personal, it's your job. If you don't even try, how would you succeed?

Why'd you take a selling job if you don't like selling?

Take some advice from a famous saleswoman, Ms. Erin Brockovich:

Erin Brockovich: I just went out there and performed sexual favors. Six hundred and thirty-four blow jobs in five days... I'm really quite tired.

I always figured those window cleaner "business" thingies were a bit of a scam, not that far off from MLM companies.

I knew a couple of people that got into that right after high school because they were attracted to the idea of "Wow, I just go wash windows and make $1000/week?! I'm in!". Then they "sell" you a $300 Cleaning/business kit to get you started.

Imo, it's the exact same premise as MLM. Their higher up people are selling a "kit" and hope to the newbies, with the knowledge that 99% of those guys are going to be students/people who look for easy cash, and know they likely won't have the sales experience to do anything sustainable in terms of keeping their "business" going and will eventually just give up when they find out they're lucky to bring in $100 a week.

Which doesn't matter because the whole business model is based around the initial buying of the "business kits" by newbies and has nothing to do with getting actual clients involved. The "kit" buyers are the clients, they just don't know it.

Did you have an initial buy in, Hockeyninja? Or was yours just simply "show up and work for commission and if you're really good here's what you can make!!!!"?

It doesn't seem like MLM to me. It sounds a lot more like Home Depot. Just buy some supplies and wander the neighbourhood looking for work.

Which is how anyone should start their own window washing business. I'm talking about the window washing "companies" that advertise themselves as a way to make "OMG $1000 a week and it's your own business!!".

When all they do is take $300 from you, hand you $40 worth of mediocre at best cleaning supplies and a "rah rah look how much THESE guys make every month, that'll be you!!!" pump up routine, very similar to the MLM meetings everyone talks about.

Then the usually inexperienced people head out to make very little money, and realize they're just going door to door and getting politely told to F off like every other door to door salesmen and then they stop doing it, while the company sits around getting hundreds of dollars per guy from the actual clients...the guys willing to pay to start their amazing new business venture.
