I think they're just laying more charges to be able to remand him for a few more days.
Given the main leads they seem to be following at present is searching fields, things aren't looking so good....

Any updates I missed on DG's elderly parents? Any sign of them yet?

Maybe they're on to the right guy, maybe not. This kind of behviour though is why so few people showed up to show the police what they bought at the sale and provide their fingerprints for all eternity.

The police are only allowed to use those finger prints for this case, and this case only.
Edit: But I agree that it seems a little crazy how the police are treating this guy especially if he is completely innocent in regards to the missing people. They adjourned the case for 2 days for a simple charge that would likely have you free if it was any other person or any other case. If I was innocent and in his position I would feel my rights are being violated, but on the other hand he isn't completely innocent having fake ID's on him and stolen credit cards.

Now the police are asking all rural property owners around Calgary to search for anything odd and unusual? Have they been on a wild goose chase these last few days? It is very hard to be optimistic, this case seems to be very complex and there are 100's of questions. My biggest one is, well two actually are, what are they expecting to find in the sweeps of the fields and what information have they received to conduct said sweeps. Also, have they recovered any evidence (DNA, clothing, cell phone) from the scene or the vehicle(s) or from the farm.
Ugh, now they are searching the dump, on the hottest day of the year. I may be coming off as too critical of the Police, but really I do feel bad for those on the ground doing all this work.

They were searching there yesterday as well. Not good at all. This story is starting to make me sick.

I think that you retweeted the perfect sentiment a couple days ago: live tweeting what appears to be a search for bodies is probably a poor use of technology.

Could care less if they were using Middle East torture tactics. They obviously have lots against him, some of which has been reported.

How do you know that? First, there is no law I'm aware of that prevents law enforcement from entering personal information either publicly available or voluntarily given in to their database for permanent use. Second, I'd be curious to know if the CPS gave a signed undertaking or agreement to those who did submit their fingerprints at the open house, that they would not be entered into the database.
If you have actual knowledge, please do tell I'd like to become more informed. If you are just giving an opinion, think before you post suggesting that you actually know.

Because a while back I was asked to be finger printed in relation to a case as a witness and one of the first things I was told by the investigator was that they couldn't use my finger prints for any other case and it would not go into a database. I am assuming the same thing applies to these people.

I believe Delgar is a lawyer, or is in that type of field. I think I would lean on believing his side of the law regarding fingerprints.
Unless I'm thinking of someone else, then dont listen to me.

Arya Stark is correct. People giving prints voluntarily as witnesses, as he did and as the estate sale vistors are, will NOT be placed in the database. It's simply a one time matching TO the database to see if their prints are in there, etc.
However, if you work as a LEO, have been arrested and printed, etc - then your prints are in the database.
Make sense?
