i loved david moss.
If it weren't for having david jones signed, i would have loved bringing moss in to fill a spot on the RW NHL depth chart. Big guy, good on the forecheck and reasonable hands. He's a hard worker, and someone you want your prospects looking up to.

While I would tend to agree, I also note the name Peanut does not indicate gender nor gender preference, and since there are several very nice female form avatars, we should in the name of fair just look past it.
Otherwise all "offensive" avatars will be censored and that would be a shame.

I liked the guy too.
But I still can't get over the time he lifted the puck over an empty net in the first overtime of game 6 of the Wings/Flames series in 2007. I KNEW we'd lose after that happened.
Not that this is a reason not to pick the guy up. The reason is that he no longer fits the Flames, who are just as likely to want to work on their own prospects in the 3rd line role.
EDIT: It's at 2:01 of this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3mOLvCSB-g Man would I need some serious therapy after something like that...

I was not a fan of David Moss at all. Wanted him off the team and included him in every trade proposal I could.
But I openly admit the guy completely won me over. He plays hard, puts in an honest effort, and is reasonably effective with his role. I'm surprised to see him on the market this long to be honest. I think he'll find a spot somewhere.

Hard to believe that the Flames were that goal away from forcing Game 7 - they had no business being in that series at all.

When did they say that? If they did, I disagree completely, considering he played way better after being moved to the wing.

Yea, that was an odd series for sure, the Flames were awful in there three games in Detroit and likely would of lost in game 7, but it was still painful to see that hit the crossbar, (was my first playoff game ever and saw it from the lower bowl, arg, haha)

I hated everything about that Detroit series. The officiating was abhorrent. The Flames deserved a better fate, although there were a fe guys on that team that #### the bed in that series.

No they did not. And everyone except Kipper #### the bed. Amazing it even made it past 4.

Whatever, dude. The officials had it in for the Flames in that series, the obscene Cleary dive being a prime example. It's hard to look good in a series when the ridiculous PIM disparity leaves you shorthanded with multiple 5-on-3s. There were plenty of terrible performers for the Flames in that series, the Phaneuf-Hamrlik pairing being the biggest one, but that doesn't change the fact that they were screwed. But I digress...

Wow.
I know he's no superstar, but kind of surprised he couldn't get an NHL deal somewhere as a depth guy.

The Oilers could have picked him up for a fraction of what they paid Pouliot.

Issue is he is 32 years old now and from what I saw last year he seems to be slowing down.
With the Salary cap the way it is more teams are hesitant to sign a guy like this and would rather just have a young guy fill the role.
I was a fan of Moss and hope he gets another chance, but not overly surprised.
