Aaron Ekblad called me last night...
Just for something a little different.
I received an automated phone call last night from Aaron Ekblad as I am a new season ticket holder for the Panthers. Nice PR move from the team to get fans excited for the upcoming season. Who knows if he will make the opening day lineup, but I think he's got a pretty good chance.
For the Flames STHs: I know that some people had their tickets hand delivered by management/players a year or two ago. What other in-person experiences did you receive from the club simply for being a STH? What are/were the best perks of being a STH?

Automated? You'd think he could have personally called both Panthers fans.

One of my close friends bought season tickets to the Atlanta Thrashers a few years back. He got a phone called from the organization thanking him for the support and letting him know how he can process a refund due to the team moving to Winnipeg.

To be honest, I've had them for about 15 years..and have never spoken to anyone really since meeting my rep that first day.
Supply/demand at work I guess- they don't HAVE to do anything, because we are buying them anyway.

In 11 years, I have been called by my 'rep' once and have been invited to STH luncheons twice.
That's it for personal contact. (other than the generic email invites to poker and other events of course)

Aaron Ekblad called me last night...
Is he signed yet? Sounds like he is working for a team for nothing. His agent should have told talon to beat it without a contract. Or are they a little short on working capital?

I don't know that I've ever been personally contacted............but I get about 15 or so pre recorded messages a year talking about upcoming season, game time changes from players just like the one described.

Dallas worked pretty hard. Autograph sessions with the full team. Shinny hockey at American Airlines and dinner before a game. Regular seat upgrades. Early access to used equipment sales. Invites to jersey launch. 1 game a year with seats on the glass. Discount on a box for Christmas.
They hustled. Lots of contact with the rep. I felt well looked after.

I went to one Flames-Coyotes game in Phoenix five years ago, and I've received more personal phone calls from the Coyotes than I have from the Flames. Not that I really need them to keep calling me anyway.
I always get invited to the end-of-season STH event with King and whichever management is around. I've also been invited to an in-season luncheon pretty much every season I've been a STH. The food is usually very good at the events, plus free wine and beer, and I won a Heritage Classic jersey at one of them.
I also get the pre-recorded phone calls with the game time change notifications and stuff.

Yes, the Coyotes tend to do that. It gets annoying.

I got a birthday card just a couple days ago, and it was signed and written by the rep who handles my account, I thought it was a nice touch, and it arrived a week early too.

As a Roughnecks season ticket holder I've gotten a few calls from the players and from the staff.
I once had a call from Geoff Snider reminding me to pick up playoff tickets and we had a nice chat. It was a nice touch and made me happy to be a STH.

Well didn't they just fire their entire office staff or something like that? Perhaps they are paying him minimum wage to work in the office. His cubicle is probably right next to Bobby Lou's who is currently stamping envelopes filled with bad cheques addressed to their hot dog and popcorn suppliers.
