tecmo superbowl was the most groundbreaking sports game on the NES and by FAR. I don't remember how they did it, but it had the correct rosters of all NFL teams circa 1992 (or whenever it was out), you could play entire seasons, and it managed to have memory where you could save your season, and have all stats like league leaders in all important categories as well as team ranks for offense and defense. Each team had different playbooks (ie. i remember the redskins would have tons of pre-snap motion). It truly revolutionized sports games in my opinion.

When we were 10 - 12 two of my buddies and I would be able to bang out a season over a weekend. We'd take all NFC or all AFC teams, or even all from the same division and play out all of the games. Man, I wish I had the time to do that now, even just one weekend...
The game was revolutionary. The stat tracking was the first game that I can recall being so in depth with real players. (Baseball Stars was amazing fo this too, but didn;t have realy players).
I'd love racking up the yards as Christian Okeye. Everyone loved to be Bo Jackson or Barry Sanders (rightfully so) but I always wanted to be Okeye. Dude could run you over if he was feeling "excellent" or "good" though things got tough if he was rated lower.
I still fire it up on Facebook every now and then if I'm bored at work, haha.

The Shining Forces are great replayable games as you can build a different army every time using different characters.
I'd love to see a remake of SF2.. I know they did 1 for the GBA which was fairly well done, now it is SF2's turn. There was a fan remake but I would like to see something more official with a bit of added content/characters.

Well, deal with it. I wasn't cheering for Canada either way. Nothing worse than arrogant Canadian fans. They'd be lucky to finish 4th. Quote me on that. They have a bad team and that is why I won't be cheering for them.
Do you mean VI and VII? Because they already re-made the true Final Fantasy III.
It's weird people are still holding on to referring to VI as III... Square's been using the true numbering in North America since Final Fantasy Anthology in 1999.
whoa there professor frink. ya, sure, FF 6 . my SNES cartridge still reads FF3 tho

Wing Commander 1 and 2. I know Star Citizen is coming out soon, but come on combine today's graphics and physics engine with the story line of those first two games and the iconic evil Kilrathi.
Tie Fighter - Ground breaking for its time, but to play on the side of evil and feel like your actually the good guy was awesome.
Star Fleet Academy - When you compare the graphics and physics in this game to the ones in the later made Klingon Academy there was a vast difference. I'd just like a capital ship game where you can't fly a ship using a joystick and pulling barrel roles and Immelmans.
Harpoon - One of the greatest military games ever made, with updated graphics and AI this could be a home run.
Dark Forces - Imagine what it would be like to face a Dark Trooper phase 3 where you could recognize it as a dark trooper phase three and not a silver marching blob.
