I just wonder if he gave old the old "do you know who I am !?!" expression? You can't be famous without having that ready to use in the back of your mind.

Assaulting a police officer is hilarious? Assaulting anyone for that matter, is hilarious?

Considering he wasn't charged, but spent the night in the drunk tank, it is actually hilarious and far from assaulting a police officer.

Don't mind oilers_fan, he's probably drunk off of Kool-Aid right about now. Tis that time of year.

While I agree that it is hilarious, it is technically assaulting a police officer.
Still funny though and nothing to get worked up about. I'm a sure he was just loaded for Canada Day. Still a poor idea to do it to a cop though.

If it was "technically" assaulting a police officer they would have charged him, it is one of the most serious things you can do. With the way it played out I think both the cop and Giroux had a ####ty day and they just threw him in the drunk tank.

Interested offseason training program...might be trying to prevent the slow start to the season with grip training.

Can't help but be reminded of clip Mike Richards would always play on Fan960 of Paul Tracy after his incident with Alex Tagliani: "He kept grabbin' me, and he kept grabbin' me, then he was like grabbin' me..."

Following an investigation, law enforcement determined that charges are not warranted. I have the utmost respect for law enforcement and apologize to the Ottawa Police Department and specifically the individual officer. I will be making no further public comment on this matter.
I will not be distracted from my ongoing preparation for the upcoming season. I remain 100% committed and focused on working with my team to return the Stanley Cup to Philadelphia.”

In a case like this I would approve if that police officer had pulled out his nightstick and laid a beating on Claude Giroux or any other drunk who would act like this in public.

Yeah, unjustified beatings are totally awesome. I know a few countries you may like to move to that fit your ideals a little better than a great country like Canada.

No, but there is no justification in beating some drunk guy just because he thinks it is funny to cop a feel (damn that was a terrible pun). Nevermind, beaten on page one.

So you're okay with the sexual harassment then? I'm sure there are plenty of countries were that's okay too, so feel free to pick one and move there, by your own logic.
