Seems like a very humble position for a guy with Feaster's qualifications. He probably just wants to do this job.

He was our GM in a tough spot, but one thing he did very well was made a lot of tough decisions to clear up a lot of cap space. He didn't necessarily make all the right moves, but he had a goal in mind and shot for it. He also had some pretty decent drafting while in charge, after years of crap drafting, so I'll commend him on that as well. Hopefully Janko turns out to be everything he expected, so he'll be vindicated.

Probably the best Feaster could hope for. Hopefully he can help the local hockey programs in that area.

Seems like a good role for him.

It will be a lot of public speaking, pressing the flesh, and flashing the (ill begotten) ring. He is well suited for all of those things.

Sutter and Button were far worse GMs.
Everyone likes to play the 'pile on' game.
I liked Jay and found his candor to be refreshing.
I do not suggest that he wasn't without fault, I am dating however that he was the first to dig us out of a hole.

I would love to share an order of nachos with that guy.

Jay is a good man. He was a great talker and I bought in for a couple years. I was never fond of his trades and did not like the perception of our team with him in charge. I wish him all the best in Tampa though I am sure he is happy to be back home

I'm really glad he has landed on his feet somewhere else quickly again. He was a good man, but lacked the shrewd nature we became accustomed to during Daryl's tenure. Not to detract from his hiring, but he clearly didn't surround himself with the right group during his time here as some of the decisions he made were curious at best.

He's an intelligent man and I wish him the very best back in Tampa.

I wonder how much he was involved in the draft when he was here? If he was heavily involved, I think he'd be a pretty good scout, as our drafts were actually decent under Feaster. That being said, this is definitely a good role for him because if there's one thing Feaster can do, it's talk.

From what I remember, Feaster is a professed non evaluator of hockey players and stayed out of the drafts. This was part of his problem as a GM as he wouldn't know if someone was feeding him bull or not.

Zero (not even minimal)

One thing he did very well is, because he knew that he didn't know hockey very well, that he let guys like Tod Button do their job without interfering.

For a guy who was admittedly not a good talent evaluator, and more of a lawyer, I cannot give him credit for the drafting, and can only place blame for the Ryan o'reilly debacle. It will stick in my mind forever(as well as many others). If you are a lawyer, you better better figure out legalities and paperwork. I won't blame you (or give credit for) your evaluation credits and blunders.

Best of luck anyways. Pretty sure NHL GM won't be on your resume again.

Well he pretty much destroyed any credibility he had as GM during his stint here, so it's no surprise he's only brought in in a lower capacity.

Still, good for Feaster that he's able to find a pretty cushy job in an awesome environment.
