Another Finnish player, Blues signing Jori Lehterä also bought out his own contract in the KHL. Interesting to see.
These are players who make better money in Russia than in the NHL.

How about the lack of moves from the Islanders? I wouldn't be surprised if Buffalo picks 1st with their pick next year.
Still some 7MM short of the floor.
I think we should try to send Wideman their way since we will likely be well above the floor once we sign our RFAs.

Pretty sure the Isles are good. They signed all the Skille they needed.

Not sure Wideman would waive to go there though

The Oilers have to be all-in for Grabovski, or Legwand.
They can't go into the season with RNH as their only top 6 center.

“@CraigCustance: Pace has definitely slowed from yesterday, but five teams showing interest in Lee Stempniak. Great guy, staff in Calgary loved him.”

Yeah so that's #1 in the NHL, which is pretty weird. Also 7th in the NHL in Corsi that year at over 57%. None of which translated into scoring because he was 8th last in the league in PDO. Had he not been incredibly unlucky, I suspect he would have had much the same hype as Wiercioch did in Ottawa.
I don't really know what to read into all of that (Wiercioch hasn't exactly lived up to his hype since) but everything would appear to indicate that he is at least an NHL caliber depth defenseman provided that you're not married to using your 5/6/7 d-man slots on facepunchers.
