Don't have a clue about the cameras, but they *could* be done wirelessly. They're probably not.

Anyhow...I repeat...I'm griping. For fun. To take some of the edge off the daily commute. It's fun to blame the big faceless bureaucracy for making life miserable.

In fact....I want "Google Earth" to go to a live feed so I can check traffic and find cops with speed traps!

Old Banff Coach Road - that's the answer to avoiding the massacre that is Bow and Sarcee right now. Look at your maps, I can do Varsity to Wentworth Estates, or vice-versa, in under 30 minutes with ease, and I'm not speeding.

Great photos. I'm fascinated by old abandoned buildngs and such things...I have to find a way to go check out those tunnels. And what is this "hidden passegway" he mentions...

Oh man, don't even think of setting up the cameras off of a wireless system fed from a little solar panel. The costs are enormous.

Wanna know how much those cameras cost installed?? A camera system, including the brains behind the cameras is close to 50 grand. No joke. And you need somewhere to put the cabinet. And there are a hundred other things to worry about. You'd need somewhere to put the camera. I'm not sure about this location exactly, but isn't it a temporary intersection, meaning the signals are hung from wires supported by a temporary wood pole? There's nowhere to mount the camera securely, and these puppies are expensive, not to mention, you need to place the cameras in the proper place for them to be effective.

One way to get down there is through a manhole cover in the Parkade directly behind (East) City Hall (where the C-train comes above ground)

They should do something about DFT. Or maybe it's the drivers, who knows. I don't understand why when there is no accidents people drive 40km/h while leaving a 15 car gap in front of them. That burns me!! I bet expanding it to 5 lanes won't help with the amount of stupid drivers here.
