Even just calling up Wotherspoon and another prospect (Cundari?) would get us there. Still would be nice to sign somebody else on D but not needed in order to hit the floor.

Would it be insane for the Flames to bring back Iginla? Give him a 3 year deal to finish out his career here, and hopefully the team starts to become pretty good by the time he's done. He'd be a good mentor for the young players, and can still pot goals. The caveat is that he's no longer considered the go to guy or the captain.

Wings told Niskanen won't go to Detroit
Joe Smith @TBTimes_JSmith
Sounds like #RedWings have been told Niskanen going elsewhere. The plot thickens. #TBLightning

James Duthie was saying Iggy is thinking of Canucks or Avs... please Iggy do not sign with Canucks. You are one of my old-time favorite Flame and please don't ruin it for me.

The Flames could outspend anybody else with all the cap room and from our team's perspective I'd love it, he would look great out there on a line with Sam Bennett. Problem is he wants a shot at a cup which won't come around here for a couple years at least so I don't think he'd consider the Flames.
Begs the question why the Canucks are in the mix though... no chance at the cup at all IMO. If he's willing to go there may as well come home

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 6s When Jarome Iginla signs, I expect it will be a three-year deal. TB, COL and VAN are the finalists.

So has Iginla just given up trying to win a Cup, and just looking for $$?

No man, don't go to Vancouver Iggy. Besides the fact that they are evil you won't get your cup shot there. Colorado is a way better option.

Colorado makes sense with them losing Stastny, they have a hole on their top 6.

I agree with you HW, but would you rather see him in a Canucks
This is moot, he just went to the Avs. Thank the Hockey Gods.
