Great signing. Gives Ortio a bit more time to develop

It's not insanely high, but it is high. The term makes the deal.

We need a veteran backup to both push Ramo and to allow Ortio to develop as a starter in Adirondack rather than a backup in Calgary.

Pang says Treliving was unsure what direction to go in (Hiller or Greiss). I like that they are discussing that, as that's exactly what we were all wondering as well, what direction they needed to take.

Great signing. Instantly becomes our starter. 4.5 per for an established starter is very reasonable. Ramo probably just thought dammit.

Good deal for the Flames. If Ramo tires or falters we can go to Hiller without concern.

Great signing, cap and term!!
If there's any position I wanted them to overpay, it's in goal. That leaves more options for prospects in the line-up!
Good things to come.

Unimpressed with draft day. So far so good with Free Agency.

The money is ZERO concern with the Flames.
And yet we're making better value deals than the rest of the league.

I was hoping for a true backup but the term and dollar amount are quite reasonable. It should be a good battle between Ramo and Hiller. I don't know if Ortio is a big fan of this signing, harder to get a call-up for the occasional NHL start.

I don't even think it is. Hiller can, if they want him to, play 60 games. Halak makes the same money and you can't say the same about him. The Isles wish they'd signed this deal. So should the Canucks.
Calgary wins the goalie UFA war today.

Jesus, sorry for expressing an opinion. I should just get in line like the rest of the heard, like you.
I even said it was a good deal.

I don't actually know how good Hiller is these days, but since the cap hit is meaningless, seems like an okay signing. Better to have some competition than give Rämö the starter position without fight.

Good term, decent goalie. Nothing wrong with this move. Better than the Miller signing.

Nice pickup Flames. Good stuff.
