I'm not sure how much more he would bring than Byron.

Not a fan of this deal. Raymond is a one dimensional offensive player who disappears in the playoffs.

He had a decent year in Toronto, and the money isn't huge, but I'm not sure the Flames lineup was missing a small, speedy winger.

Man they could have signed him cheaper last season. I am okay with this signing. Will help us reaching cap ceiling.

Speedy 40pt winger. Has a chance to get some more icetime to pick up the slack from Cammy's absence but slots anywhere in the top 9.

I like Raymond. He's a very good skater and does occasionally come up with the puck in the corners. However, the prices for FA's are ridiculously high. There's no way a guy like him is really worth north of 3 Million Dollars per season.

Raymond is one of the softest players in the whole league

19G - 26A in 82 games in Toronto last year. Local area kid who wants to be a Flame.

Not a bad deal. He won't replace all of Cammy's offence, but he's also $2M cheaper than Cammy.

I guess it's good he'll be gone by the time we get back into the playoffs then.

This makes a little sense as to why Byron wasn't re-upped. Although I'd rather have Byron then Raymond

Good thing we'll be nowhere near the playoffs

I don't think that will be an issue.

Good thing that won't be a concern. Not mad at this at all, always good to have guys who want to play somewhere.

Playoffs? Flames might be reaching for wild card spot on the last year of his deal.

Good deal, Raymond is better than many here are giving him credit for. He has Canuck and Leaf stink on him, doesn't mean he won't be a good Flame. $3.whatever million is cheap

I mean he was a great signing for Toronto last year but that was when he cost a million bucks. Even if it was 2ish it would have been good. 3.5? This is an overpay by a fairly significant margin.
How is he overpaid by a significant margin? A 28 year old speedster who can score 15-20 goals and 40-50 points. Not saying it's a bargain but seems to be fair value for him.

Yep, that last bit is going to be a real problem for us.

Anyone who'd rather have Byron over Raymond is living in a Flames bubble.
