Tsn panel were saying the oilers didn't want to get into bidding wars. Obviously, they paid PREMIUM for both of these players. I know these deals seem alright to them as they have cap space now, but they are going to be hurting for space as soon as next year with a stable full of average overpaid players. No good, I say.

Thanks for the info.

At least being a bit bigger means they might be harder to knock off the puck. I don't know. Time will tell. Fayne I know nothing about.

Ryan Rishaug @TSNRyanRishaug
Neither Fayne or Pouliot got no movement clauses in deals.

I wish Pouliot would just come right out and say 'they gave me a deal I couldn't refuse', not garbage like 'I like the way the team is going'.

No respect from TSN. James talking to Benoit Pouilott and he called him Milan

The pouliot deal has an unwritten no trade clause in it.

Oilers at 58 million right now (and still have to sign J.Schultz and Petry if they don't trade him).

Only contract of any significance coming off the books next year is Fasth.

The players are good. The terms, not so much.

TSN is wondering if Pouiliot can handle moving from the 3rd line to a top-six role.

I will be very interested in the fate of Fayne.
Without question an analytics signing.
Will it transcend no-goodness?
Time will tell

Fayne seems like a good deal, although I haven't watched him play a lot

Pouliots deal puts him in the running for the Finger award, as an early favorite.

The Oilers needed more actual NHL players every year for the last 7 or 8.

At least they are getting some.

Oilers have added ExtraSkater.com to The Hockey News in their scouting department.

You're right. No one was saying that when they took ference and Gordon. The oilers dish out these 4 mil contracts every year and every year ends up the same. Maybe they should make pouliot Captain
