Wouldn't mind Orpik. He's a shut down defenseman, something we lack in. Better options out there though, let's hope we go after those first.

Is there better options? Ufa market on dmen is pretty weak.

As a shut down dman option - I think Orpik is actually one of the best FA options out there. Pickings are slim. I would be happy with this signing especially if it means Gilbert isn't in our plans.

I forgot about the Trevor Linden & Iginla bromance. Very interesting. Can't see him signing there if he's serious about winning, but my jaw wouldn't drop if he did. Close to his summer home, and tbh, not sure I think Iggy's has the best judgement on these things.

The Flames could use Orpik's toughness back there.

Well Niskanen is a pipe dream. I'd like to take a stab at Fayne or Mitchell.

Imo, Mitchell > Orpik

I kind of hope he does. It might be what some people need to finally move on.

Even McBain or Del Zotto if you wanted to go for younger options.

Iggy has always demanded top dollar. He will sign somewhere for market value instead of taking a big discount for a contender.
Factor the close to home ties, if the money is right, he'll put that rag on.

I hope thats not the case. I think he, Ward, Miller would be decent stop gaps until Ortio is ready to come up.
And there is that little bit about getting dizzy from an inner ear problem.

Those 2 offer nothing defensively for the flames. Flames need shut down dmen.

Lol, yes, but that's a last name of a 26 year old Buffalo defenseman too .
