Seriously?

A full time NHLer (arguably 3rd liner) who gives his heart and soul on every shift. He plays with no regard to his own health, which is awesome for us fans, but in all likelihood will cut his career by several years.

And your response is give him $800k?

I would happily pay him $1.5m (and would have no problem with it being $2m)

I think 800k is too little, but 2m is too much.

I'd give Bouma a solid 1.25m x 2.

Bouma isn't coming back so it doesn't matter what you'd offer him. Having heart is good and all but it just isn't enough if that's all you have to offer.

Some people get so obsessed with a player and over value them. Time to move on.

Already been mentioned, but Bouma received a qualifying offer today. He is here for another year unless he rejects any deal we offer him.

We'll only see him again at the ceremony to retire his number.

Not sure if the source of this information is Don Maloney or just this guy's gut feeling but apparently RW Ratim Vrbata's asking price is:

Quote:
About ‘a three-to-four year deal at an average annual value of $4.5 million
Coyotes aren't keen to pay up now that they've added Gagner.

Mike Santorelli is another RW who looks to be hitting the open market. Could be an interesting reclamation project. He is very quick and would slot in well despite having Canucklehead stank all over him. Really rebounded last year from a poor couple of seasons.

3-4 years at $4.5M seems like a good price for Vrbata IMO.

He's 33 so term matters in the case of Vrbata.

I'm pretty sure the team sees Bouma as a key bottom 6 guy moving forward.

Millions had tweeted this in February:
#Flames Lance Bouma. I expect an extension to his contract before season's end. Nothing yet. Believe both team and agent have spoken.

Who? Lance Bouma? Really? Why is that? Seems like a nice cog in the Flames wheel.

Has only improved sine coming back from injury and is so incredibly selfless on the ice. I'm confused as to why he of all people wouldn't be welcomed back on your Flames roster..

I'd be more upset if Bouma wasn't brought back, but Byron was.
