Josh Gorges situation in MTL problematic for all. MTL had deal with TOR but Gorges refused to waive modified NTC to go to TOR. Still won't.

I have no issue with Cammalleri staying in Calgary. Flames have so much cap room to spend over the next few years until the youth develops and earns the larger contracts. Flames need leadership. Plus, Cammalleri is a poster boy for smaller players on how to physically train for the NHL. Plus hes a sniper which the Flames need too.

It may be that with the free agency window, he has found out that the offers aren't there for him the way he thought they might be. Purely speculation but if he does sign with Calgary, safe to assume that he received lukewarm interest on the open market.

I think that timeline looks mostly right except that I think they'd season Gillies for more then one year in the AHL and likely send McDonald to the ECHL to get him more touches then he'd get as a AHL back-up.
