Say what you will about whether it would be a good idea to have Iginla return to the Flames from a hockey perspective, but I don't think I've ever heard anyone refer to him as a "cancer". The guy was a heart and soul captain of this club for how many years? How many Flames records does he hold? Who pretty much put the 2004 team on his back and took them further than they had any business going? He deserves a lot more respect than your stupid post.

Who's up for signing Iggy in order to send him back to Boston at the deadline?
We could use a RW and if we retained some salary, we should be in line for a very decent return.

Why on earth with Iginla consider signing with Vancouver? They're a terrible team that's gotten worse so far this off season moving out players without replacing them. They have no starting goaltender, and are regressing big time.
Aside from the fact that it's Vancouver (worst fan base and team culture in the league)... a guy like Iggy who's looking for a good shot at a cup would have to look at the Canucks and think about playing the California teams so many times each season and write that option completely off.
No chance. But, good for a laugh.

What! It was the fans and the fans alone that forced him out of Calgary. Iginla didn't want to leave and the owners wanted him to stay.

That is not true at all. Their was a mutual agreement between the organization and Iginla to move on, the fans had nothing to do with it. Some of the weird ideas on this forum....

Iginla deserves respect for all he did for the Flames, the city of Calgary, and representing Canada. He will go into the hall of fame and choose to wear the Flaming C doing it.
My Mom was the executive director and house manager of the Ronald McDonald house in Calgary from 98 to 04. She doesn't like hockey but is a fan of Iggy because all the joy he brought children that needed a boost. People might say that comes with the territory but he did it because he's a genuine good soul.
Having said all that if we were fortunate enough to have him want to come back I for one couldn't think of a better ufa RW to be a part of the Flames, rebuilding and all.

love iggy, hope he finds the team and helps them win a cup this season.
I wouldn't be cheering for him should he sign with any other canadian team, however.

For Iginla's destination, you need a team with cap space and a decent chance of making noise in the playoffs...
Anaheim has cap space (but an unknown internal budget) and needs to replace Selanne. If he goes there, it might be too tempting to punch Kesler in the face every day.
Colorado has cap space (but an unknown internal budget) and Iggy's old buddy Tanguay. Re-signing Stastny and O'Reilly will eat into the budget pretty quickly.
Arizona has cap space (but an unknown internal budget) and Iggy's old buddy Doan, plus a bunch of owners who are from Calgary. They missed the playoffs last season, but with Vancouver in decline; Calgary in rebuild mode for at least one more season; Edmonton being Edmonton; and San Jose possibly making big changes, the Coyotes have a good chance of making the playoffs for the next couple of seasons. It will still be a tough Division to win in the playoffs with all roads going through So-Cal.
The Rangers have a ridiculous amount of cap space (thanks, buyouts) and just went to the Finals. They're already on a quest to get a Cup for Lundqvist, and Sather is never shy about throwing big money at past-their-prime players.

If he REALLY wants to win a cup, sign with LA for 2 years at 1 million per. Then you'll get your cup. Boston isn't winning any cups unless Vancouver happens to make it to the finals again.

Miller is still a very good goalie IMO, but it'll take a lot more than a good goalie to make Vancouver scary

Jarome Iginla is looking at a 2 year deal. The only team he would accept to go for 1 season is Boston. #tvasports

I do. This would signify that they are still trying to win and can keep their grubby mitts off of McDavid/Eichel/Hanifin.
