That would not make him as big as Draisaitl obviously, but it is irrelevant. Bennett is, and always will be more physical. By the time he is finished growing, he will be plenty big enough to bring that physicality to the NHL effectively.

Great. So excited to see him when he is at his full potential!

nope, Bennett will be in Junior this year, so Sean is going to have to wait one more year to get the Baertschi treatment.

Not into shiny new toys but, it is a legitimate question.
Monahan is better now but in the future, one of them will be playing on 1st line the other on 2nd unless something changes.

Bennett has the higher potential I think. However, since their games are so different, it probably just depends what kind of tempo the coaching staff wants to set with our "top line"

Sakic and Forsberg in Colorado, Crosby and Malkin in Pittsburgh, Yzerman and Federov in Detroit...

So, 1A/1B how democratic. Although in case of Crosby he is the #1.

And with both Monahan and Bennett, the PK if needed. Both are capable in their own zone as well as possessing offensive gifts.

Yes, they are both center ice men and thus with have to play on different lines. What does this matter at all?

The question was who has the higher upside, I was not aware that some questions are better not be asked.

Yeah, watching Kopitar and Carter killing penalties all the time throughout the LA run really drove home how important it is who can do it all.

I definitely see them being a 1A/1B for Calgary. When this rebuild is complete and they are both in their prime... The flames will be a hard team to match up against with a one-two punch up the middle of great two-way centres. Make a that a one-two-three-four punch with guys like backlund, Reinhart, granlund, knight, Byron, and colborne all great options up the middle.
I'm very happy that bennett will likely be going back to junior for another year. The flames have plenty of guys knocking on the door for that 2nd/3rd line centre position so there is no need to rush Bennett at all.

Would it kill Burke's ego if the Flames were the first to sign a 2014 draft pick? Bennett is total first in my books.

Yeah I am still on cloud nine. I like Monahan but I feel we finally got what may be an elite talent with Bennett.

I wouldn't compare Bennett to McDavid.
I would look at the fact that Bennett is 7-8 months younger than Draisaitl and Reinhart, the youngest of the top 4 overall, and physically less mature than all of them. Yet could have easily been the top forward picked and had a very comparable season/production. So really, 7-8 months from now will be an accurate comparison of where Bennett is at compared to Draisaitl and Reinhart in 2013/14.
A bit more potential/ceiling possibly yet to be shown.
