Are they going to play Jackman 30 minutes a game??

Other than Jackman they have a group of talented d-men that strike fear into no one at all.

Very similar to the Flames they were a team on the verge of playing with the big boys and then they got Bouwmeester....

The Leafs blueline struggles with possession and Polak is one of the worst Blues possession players.

His ice-time has been decreasing steadily for the past 5 seasons.

He's not a top 4 anymore - at least not if you have a good top 4,

Blues have the best top 3 in the NHL imo. It's tough to get ice-time there. Gunnar will run into the exact same problem.

Gunnar will not get a chance to "Blossom" with the Blues defense. Steen had an easier road getting ice-time.

Polak is great on the PK. The Blues had the 2nd best PK in the NHGL. Leafs were 3rd worst. It addresses a need. He's a big strong defensive-D-Man.

Another problem with Gunnar is he has a bad hip. Just had hip surgery.

It's pretty rare that any Leaf is nearly as good as the Toronto market, HNIC, TSN hype train makes them out to be. Gunnarsson is a very average defenseman and this trade at least make the Leafs a little harder to play against.
