I've just looked up Brandon Hickey in THN draft issue. They say he is a fantastic skater with size and, the part I like, he's a Boston College commit.

DO the Flames NOT have 4th nor 5th round picks??
I thought it was only the 4th round where they were absent.

4th for Colborne, 5th was for Russell. Good use of the picks IMO.

I had forgotten about the Russell pick being this season, I thought it was last draft...right, of course... so, we wait a while

Boston University, BC's cross-town rival.

Is Aaron Haydon really still on the board. Shocking.

I don't trust the "big = good" picks. Which one of those has panned out?
Kanzing - too soon to tell. Jankowski? Might turn out, but looking like there were better options. Joey Leach? Nah. Niemisz? FML. Aulie... kind of... but not with us. Baldwin? Whoops.
We haven't had much success with players over 6'2". I'd suggest we might be overrating them.

Size is important, but only if they have skill to match. Not sure that Smith has the skill to be more than a 4th liner.

Shall we just draft midgets then? Drafting is about the future, not the past. Just because a few taller picks busted previously doesn't mean they all will.
Man, I wish I could take a break from CP. So many posters think they are the smartest person in the room.

I really like the Bennett and Hickey picks, and don't mind the McDonald pick (Not a fan of picking goalies high) and I hate the Hunter Smith pick and Bollig acquisition.
Overall, I'd rate the draft a 7/10 in it's entirety.

Aaron Haydon, Spencer Watson and Reid Gardiner seem to be dropping. Kind of surprising.
