The Flames have officially jumped aboard the stupid train.
Why would you spend a 3rd on a 4th line grinder.

That should answer the re-sign Westgarth poll from a few weeks ago.
Fine trade. Big guy who can play and should be useful for the team.
Better to have a guy like this in the line-up then plugs like Westgarth and McGrattan who can only punch.

I don't think Bollig is worth a 3rd round pick.

Brandon Bollig played all 82 regular season games for the Chicago Blackhawks this year and 15 games in the playoffs.
He had 7 goals and 7 assists in the regular season and 1 assist in the playoffs.
He averaged 10:16 in ice time on one of the best teams in the league.

I like him. Worth an 84th? Maybe not. But tough bugger, not a complete plug, and great heart and soul guy.

This guy better be one heck of a guy to be around if this is all that he brings.
I would have rather have made a long shot pick with this 3rd.

I like the trade, Bollig had 14 points and played all 82 games last year; plugs don't play 82 games. He will create some space for the kids.

A round to high for this trade for me. A 4/5 would be better but Van set the value yestery and I would rather have Bolig than dorset

A 3rd rounder in a weak draft for an established 4th liner on a great team isn't too bad of a deal if you ask me. We're going to have a SCARY 4th line!

First Line Centre
I dont mind this at all. I like having a tough 4th line. As people have already said, hes clearly Westgarths replacement.

I like that both Bouma and Bollig play center. Two guys that can take draws if the 4th line gets caught out on an icing.

That should be worth at least 12-13 minutes a night on the Flames roster. Not even scratched once. Pretty impressive on that roster.
