For those complaining about Hickey, how many times have you actually seen him play?

Isnt smith projected to be a second line winger? Why are peopme calling him grinder / fighter? because of his size?

You don't, but we really need defensemen in the system. We are flush with depth forwards, and goalies. It's our two organizational strengths. There isn't a need for more of the same, especially when there are good defenders out there.

ISS has Hickey as a "depth defender". Awesome - a bottom 6 winger, a depth defenseman and a freaking goalie. Maybe Darryl is back running the show?

It's ridiculous to say Hickey is an awful pick, it's just disappointing to see them leave higher ranked guys on the table. But then you think, they are being left on the table by the entire league, so they clearly know more than we do. Trust the scouts.

I certainly put trust in the management/scouting staff. I guess I'm just disappointed because it seems like the Flames used their 2nd/3rd round picks on guys with limited upside compared to others available.

I dont think its complaining about Hickey himself, I think its more on how there were better players available in that position as ranked by many more scouts then here on CP

Yeah, more than other drafts... ever since the mid 1st round it has just been all over the place.

Teams are taking who they have high on their list because there apparently aren't many/any consensus picks.

Honestly, what do I know. When you read a bunch of different scouting reports, you get your hopes up on certain players... oh well.
