Dougherty or McKeown, yes please! Looks like the alarm will have to be set for8

Kipper's deal had 1 big drop off year. Contracts signed under this cba will be similar.

Kovy's deal was originally what? 17 years? With like 4 drop-off years

If we get one of Barbashev, McKeown, Lemieux or Dougherty, I'll be a happy squid.

Looks like we will get a nice prospect dropping to 34. This is shaping up to be a great draft for the Flames. #happy.

McKeown at 34 would be fantastic. Would be happy with Dougherty as well ... two big right-handed defensemen available with only three picks before our next selection

I believe Briere's deal in Philly was the first real front-loaded deal. Kipper's was second and not nearly as blatant as those that came later.

Kippers deal was the first one and clearly created the premise.
The fact that the league allowed it is the reason the problem escalated.

Hard to believe Ekblad is only 18 he seems very well-spoken compared to most other interviews from this draft class.

Thing is, I'd like Lemiuex, but now that we have Bennett, I think we need to address positional needs and we need some Dmen in the system. I think the 3 above us takes Demko and possibly Barbashev and MacInnis as well. I think we will definitely have either Dougherty or McKeown to select tomorrow.

Will we at all look to add another 2nd rounder early on in the round, maybe by packaging up our Avs 2nd with our Pens 3rd?

Shocker of the draft for me was a move that was NOT made: I thought for sure that the Sens would pull the trigger on the Spezza deal to get a pick in the first round. Missing a chance to add a nice big piece of the 'rebuild (?)' seems like a distinctly UN-Senators type of move.

That is arguable. Briere's deal signed a year earlier was pretty bad.

Seemed like a deep 1st round than the media made it look a few weeks back.

Buffalo, Florida and St.Louis. Sounds like a strong possibility that we get one of the two assuming a trade isn't made.

Comments made by treliving during the bennett interview make it seem as though he'd like a dman too.
