Wonder if Hartley will still be around when Bennett makes the team.

I'm absolutely ecstatic with this pick. I'm so glad he didn't end up in Edmonton.

I admit, I don't follow the young kids or really put a whole lot of stock into the overanalyzed expectations that the draft process has become, at least as far as what the fans see are told by the dozens of talking heads for months in advance.
That said, on first impressions of hearing the guys talk, and how they carry themselves, Ekblad, Reinhart and Bennett clearly have the humbleness, character and maturity....all intangibles to go along with the confidence.
I haven't got that impression from the Oilers kid, or anyone else yet drafted in first round.

Bennett definitely has alright height. I wouldn't doubt that he's already over 6 feet. Just needs some beef on his core.

Awesome pick. Let's just not do what Stinkville does and rush him into the lineup.

This is why I hoped so hard that Edmonton would take him and allow Bennett to fall to us. You look at all the recent Stanley Cup winners and they're all stacked with Canadian and American players who step up their games come playoff time. Not saying that Draisaitl couldn't do that, but I'll put my money on the kid that's grown up in a country where hockey is #1 and who dreamed about lifting the Stanley Cup all his life

Is it just me or does he look a little like Niewendyk? Awesome, best forward in this draft.

It's worth remembering Bennett is at least 8 months younger than both Reinhart and Draisaitl.

Chin looks like Markin, but their hair is scarily similar.

What's the Monahan/Bennett connection? Did they play together, or Sean just knows him personally?
