I know this may not be the right thread to ask, but I didn't want to start a new thread for my question.

Does someone have a link (or something) where I can (re) watch the full draft tomorrow?
The draft starts at 1 a.m. in the Dutch night and the draft itself probably won't start before 2 a.m. I guess.
I prefer to be sleeping at that time
If possible I'd like to watch the draft on saturday morning without spoilers (it's called 'spoilers' right?)

Thanks in advance.

Boomer was also speculating this morning that the Flames could be an interesting target for many teams in a move such as;

1) Player (salary dump) & draft pick type of a move to the Flames.

Then the other team would go out and acquire an expensive player......

(i.e. for example if the Hawks tried to add another big salary)

Ah the old "salary dump" theory that the media and Feaster concocted which teams have shown absolutely zero interest in. Turning one mistake (bad contract) into two (giving away assets to rid themselves of bad contract) really is poor management and it's why it doesn't happen.

TSN should be streaming the first round. I am not sure if there are IP location limitations or not though.

Does NHL Network have a free stream? In China right now and would love to watch the Flames make their pick.

Maybe once the compliance buyout period no longer exists you'll see this actually happen, but any meaningful draft pick (1st or 2nd) is just pie-in-the-sky thinking. I would love it to happen, but you're right - compounding bad decisions loses people their jobs.

Not sure, with the draft not being "great"... Flames could pry another 1st round (i.e. mid to late 1st rounder) selection in this scenario.

I would not be surprised if this type of move happens....

Thanks, but I'm not allowed TSN bcause of my location

I have options to watch the draft live, but I prefer to watch it later (after I woke up)

I think I just watch it live... I'm probably to excited to sleep anyway.

Flames have given 2nd round picks twice to move bad money. Regehr and Primeau deals. Web Nash unloaded Lombardi the included Franson as incentive. It doesn't happen often but when teams need cap space it is an option that has been used

The compliance buy-outs are the reason this hasn't happened much. Now that teams have started to exhaust their buy-outs they will rid themselves of contracts through traditional means, which includes moving assets with bad contracts to entice teams with space to eat those bad contracts.

If compliance buyouts were available for Primeau and Kotalik, I'm sure Sutter/Feaster would have utilized them (barring a ban from ownership). As per my previous post (and New Era's), the compliance buyout period has allowed GMs to get out from under their mistakes. With those gone, perhaps that comes back as an option for cap-handcuffed and low-cap teams alike.

I don't think it does unfortunately, just going by something I read in another thread.

And both of the GM's that made those moves were out of work. I'm not saying it won't happen again but it's not good management and it's just not something that is going to be common as it's bad asset management.

We are talking real money though. A second round pick doesn't cost anything. If I am an owner and it's between spending 8 million on a player to sit in the minors / play a limited role or giving up a 2 round pick I probably do the latter. That is especially true for budget teams.

And so are the GMs on the other side of those deals so I am not sure that is much of a gauge.

The next time a good GM makes one of these types of deals it will be the first. That's a gauge IMO as Feaster and Sutter are not what I would call great GM's and both of them are no longer GM's. Incompetence will breed deals like this but we have seen that even incompetent GM's have shied away from making these deals over the past few years. I'm sure the Flyers may do something like this trying to unload Levavalier but they are what I would the opposite of the gold standard of NHL management.

I was wondering yesterday if the discussion of trade to #2 for Draisaitl is a half truth to prep for an Ekblad scenario.

1. Ekblad isn't taken at 1st (ie: Someone trades Florida and goes for a centre), we grab him at 2 w/ Buffalo pick, hype from us lead Edmonton to take Draisaitl leaving a player Buffalo wants at 4. (Possible? Unlikely?)
2. Ekblad isn't taken at 1st, Buffalo refuses us because want a specific Sam but doesn't need Ekblad anyways, small chance Edmonton takes Draisaitl due to our hype and forgetting Ekblad is still on the board and we take him at 4th. (Anything is possible here. "Relying on Edmonton" is a difficult thing to do. Wishful thinking.)

The other option or the other half truth/truth to reality is that perhaps Buffalo and we are indifferent to the Sams/Maybe we actually like Draisaitl. Florida takes Ekblad at #1...

1) We actually take Draisaitl at 2. (Probable)
2) It was a troll. We want a Sam. We expected Buffalo to trade to "fail". Buffalo takes their choice in centre (unless Edmonton overpays for #2, in which case I would hope Buffalo owes us something like a commission "cap dump" trade from them... Under the table deal sort of thing). Edmonton takes Draisaitl thinking they won the Alberta rivalry (the rumor swayed them towards a centre). Buffalo gets their Sam, we take the other. (Absolutely doubt it we did some shenanigans with Buffalo... the other part... probable?)

Burke has said it's their duty to lie. Maybe it's a lie to get the best of all scenarios?

THIS DRAFT NEEDS TO END!! This is like a cliff hanger to a choose your own adventures book.

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger 16m Doesn't sound like either Buffalo or Edmonton are interested in moving the 2nd or 3rd pick overall.

Hope we stay at 4.

Edmonton staying at 3 is the whole key to us getting one of the Sam's or less likely Ekblad. They pick Draisaitl and we take whats left. If Draisaitl gets announced in any of the top 3 picks my wife will wonder why i'm cheering so loud when the flames haven't even picked yet.
