What are you guys' thought on Weaver? I thought he was the best defensive defenseman the Habs had in the playoffs. I'd totally sign him a 2 year, 2.5-3m deal and have him paired with Smid. That'd be a shot-blocking pairing. Plus, Weaver is a right handed shot, and would put up more points than Butler. Pretty much an upgrade. I know he is a bit on the smaller side, but another veteran presence would be great for the young ones.

Brian Lawton @brianlawton9
@mirtle Would not be a surprise if @VanCanucks opt for more experienced back-up or a starter instead of Jacob Markstrom even with his 1-way

Meh.
One more contract (36 yo) and given career earnings might be looking for $ versus winning now. Not more than two year offer tho.
I like him, but I'll definitely say pass while other potential targets are still out there. Would rather see more spent on guy the right side of 30 who could be valuable moving forward, instead of just filling holes.

Funny how the Canucks used to have the best goalie tandem a couple of years ago. Now, they have arguable the worst goalie situation .

Yeah, trade away two starting goaltenders within a year and get no immediate help back? Pretty awful.

Ryan Rishaug @TSNRyanRishaug
Clayton Stoner generating some interest as well, his camp will meet with several teams this week, Oilers not among them at this point.

Apparently the Canucks are interested in Ryan Miller & Dave Bolland.

Have learned the #Canucks have called the agent for UFA goalie Ryan Miller. Can't imagine Eddie Lack will be happy.

Sources tell me, Miller would have no issues playing in Vancouver.

I'm willing to bet that the Flames do a whole lot of nothing until they announce their 4thOA pick. Nothing I've seen so far makes any sense for the Flames to get into. I mean yeah I'd love for Stasny to be a Flame, various other names ect but realistically, I don't see Treliving being willing to pay the price these guys are going to command.

Miller to Vancouver makes no sense to me, I thought he wanted to play in the States? Possible he has changed his mind, but I would be surprised if he came to Canada.

Vancouver is closer to LA where his wife works than all US cities outside of California, Colorado, and Phoenix.

Plus Vancouver is Hollywood North, for an actress, there'd probably be opportunities in Vancouver too.

I think the rumour was that he wanted to be close to LA for his model/actress wife.
Vancouver an easy flight to LA and while not LA, Vancouver would have a lot more acting opportunities than a regular NHL city.

other than getting to the cap floor not sure why the flames have any interest in the guys being discussed. They should be looking at the guys that are going to be left over after the frenzy, and see if there are any guys left that they could get onto short term deals to get to the cap and/or fill roles in the depth chart so as to not having to rush a guy from the heat.
What's uber curious is the little to no (maybe i missed it in this thread) rumours/tweets about cammalleri thus far.

That would be a horrible strategy for any GM. This CBA expires in 2022. The longest contracts that can be given to a UFA this year will end in 2021.

Let me tell you one thing about Vancouver....it's on the west coast.
You can remember that, you won't end up wondering up and down the eastern seaboard for 3 days looking for Vancouver.
Worst 3 days I ever spent.
