NHL says its chosen no word about a vote.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=24933

Every other award they clearly write voted or polled.

Strange. I thought Taylor Hall was the best LW in the league

Name recognition and a western team. I actually think him being even at 10 is pretty good.

McKenzie said during one of the broadcasts late this season that if he had a 4th place vote he'd give it to Giordano.

10th place is just silly.

George was a horrible host. Ron Maclean was so much better.
I liked Ron's zingers that made you think.

Totally agree. Plays in a non traditional hockey market so I would suspect that the majority of the voters don't even watch. Him and Doughty are the best defencemen playing today. Weber IS the Nashville Predators, he plays with nobody so doesn't get the support for scoring that the other guys do.

Chara is an excellent player but I don't see him getting as many votes as he did. I guess they just give the award to the guy who scores the most on the top teams.

That whole Cuba Gooding Jr thing was...something. I'm shocked that Messier kept his composure as well as he did.

"The King Clancy Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to the National Hockey League player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and who has made a significant humanitarian contribution to his community"

So Ference got the King Clancy because he signed and showed up in Edmonton even after he was told how no good they were.

I don't know why the NHL bothers with this award show. It is awful. It is slow paced, boring and lifeless. Stroumbo was a terrible host who couldn't inject any life into the performance. Would it kill them to try to attract some decent musical talents to put on some sort of good live show? The players and fans deserve much better than this.

That EA Cover reveal was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. I'm not even sure how you can even loosely say that's applicable to hockey at all.

Cuba Gooding was the only good thing about this award night. I find this thing so slow and boring. Players doesn't even know what to do.

They had some breakdancing crew in white masks, one in Habs colours the other in Bruins colours having some sort of dance off with lazers and hip hop music.
