Single best mod out there is the Bag of Holding mod. It gives you a bag to store an unlimited amount of stuff. Great for saving time on looting dungeons.

Or you could save yourself some trouble and just use the built in console commands...

Bought Democracy 3 based on comments in this thread (and watched a quick gameplay video...) and it is pretty darn terrific. For <$15 I got the game and the two DLC.

Admittedly, I cranked the 'Economic Difficulty' down to 80% for my first game (noob advantage). Had an absolute riot.

Pros:
1. The interface is FAR more intuitive than it first appears. Even a schlub like me had it mastered within 10 minutes of gameplay.
2. The relationships between specific policies is amazing. Adding/Removing/Altering one policy can have a ripple effect throughout your country.
3. The connection between economic and societal benefits is a good challenge and is well balanced. It's "Easy" to target specific issues.
4. There are so many options that the replayability is just endless. You could literally created any kind of society you want.
5. I like that it tracks your decisions and plots them into political quadrants. I played two games with the "Here's how I'd actually run the country" and saw what my true political leanings are. Fun feature.
6. The political capital model works well. It's an interesting way of doing things. Having a cabinet with various sympathies gives you a motive to keep all citizens in mind with decision making.

Cons:
1. The "Red Arrow/Green Arrow" doesn't always create clear context. I found myself having to really really think about "Does this mean good or bad?" from time to time. Still a good visualization method.
2. I wish there was a "Previous screen/menu" button (perhaps I'm just missing it). It sucks to click 4 layers deep on something while investigating, and then having to restart the whole chain again to change something on the third layer. Should be able to just hit backspace or something to move up a layer.

I'd love to see the ability to project your country's power (economic, military, social) onto the world stage. There's a little bit of this, but not very much. Do you want to be a "World Power" like the US or a "Closed Nation" like N.Korea?

All in all, I'd have paid full price for the game had I'd known what it was like. At $8 (core game) this thing is a steal. Grab a laptop, lay in the hammock, run a country. Brilliant.

South Park is on sale. Think I might pick it up based on the feedback from this thread

Only thing that I can say against it is that there isn't any randomness when you replay. Same people, same order.

Otherwise, it is a superb game.

Same. I'm not really an RPG fan but I love the show. Every review I've read says it is pretty amazing.

But still at $40.

I really want the game, but it's hard to justify $40 for a game these days. I probably have enough games left over that I haven't even installed yet from last year's summer sale, that I can wait for them to do better on that one.

I'm cheap that way though.

Okay, I've tried googling this but can't get a clear answer.

I used to love these sales because you could get free cards while voting and then sell them in the market to get money to buy games.

Somehow I'm a level 6 Steam user, don't know how that happened, guessing it's number of years on Steam and number of installed games. Can someone tell me the easiest way to get to Level 8? I have $1.48 in my Steam wallet. Do I just need to make 2 badges? if so what are the cheapest to make and how do you make them?

I actually found the game a bit too easy. Once you figure out how to keep the GDP high, everything else just falls in line. I am at something like 95% of the vote during elections with little to no voter apathy with only the Religious outright hating me.

I have never really figured out the cards or badges thing.

Also, I have voted 4 or 5 times so far this time and haven't received a single card from it and I am pretty sure the ones I am voting for are winning.

It states you must be a level 8 Steam member to get voting cards.

If you really need to level up to 8 quickly, the best way is to buy cards for badges, earning you 100xp each.

To see badges, hover over your nickname and in the menu select badges. Click a badge, preferably one where you have some cards already. It will then show you which ones you are missing and below that it will have links to Search the Market. If you click that, then you'll see some prices and options to Buy Now. Prices are dependant on which game you selected and the popularity. Do this for each card and when you have them all, you then craft your badge and earn 100xp points.

You may need more than one badge, but to see how many points you need it's at the top of the badge screen. I myself earn cards from buying and playing games, then I sell duplicates and buy the ones I need to craft a badge.

And for $4.99 you'd be silly not to get it. The only bad thing I have to say about Borderlands 2 is that because of the amount of side quests you can do you eventually out-power the story line specific quests (good or bad depending on how you like your games).

There's a new Borderlands coming out shortly too.

I ended up picking Divinity: Original Sin because of all the good things people were saying about it and the fact it looked pretty neat. I played a bit of it and it's pretty fun. It seems like there's a lot to the game and not a whole lot of explanation but that might be because its still in beta with the retail release coming out in eight days.

Looks like Civ 5 is going to be part of the next community choice selection. The base game would be 75% if it wins. Assuming that percentage is the same for the complete edition, you'd be looking at $12.50.
With Brave New World, great deal.
